Crochet ice cream - This ice cream looks so delicious, be careful you don’t eat your fingers! How lovely to eat an ice cream with your favourite flavours? A scoop of chocolate, stracciatella and strawberry sauce, or maybe vanilla and banana? Choose your own colours and make your personal key chain!
This sweet little crocheted ice cream keychain is quick to make and a super fun accessory! It could also be used as a decoration, party favor, or zipper pull on a backpack. Vary with colours, style it to your own taste and you have a yummy little ice cream. Yay!
What do you need?
Material:
- 1 ball Catania colour 179 and 106
- 1 ball Phildar Carnaval colour 105
- 1 ball Rico Essentials Cotton Lurex colour 4
- Crochet hook 2 and 3 mm
- Stuffing
- Snap hook (use one from an old key cord or key chain)
Stitches used:
sl st = slip stitch
ch = chain stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
trc = triple crochet
cr = crab stitch
Crochet pattern ice cream:
Cone?
Start with a magic ring and sc 4. Use a crochet hook 2mm.
Round 1: * sc 1, sc 2 in the next st*. Repeat ** (= 6 sts).
Round 2: * sc 2, sc 2 in the next st*. Repeat ** (= 8 sts).
Round 3: sc 8.
Round 4: * sc 1, sc 2 in the next st*. Repeat ** (= 12 sts).
Round 5: sc 12.
Round 6: * sc 3, sc 2 in the next st*. Repeat ** (= 15 sts).
Round 7: sc 15.
Round 8: * sc 2, sc 2 in the next st*. Repeat ** (= 20 sts).
Round 9: sc 20.
Round 10: * sc 3, sc 2 in the next st*. Repeat ** (= 25 sts).
Rounds 11-12: sc 25.
Round 13: cr 25. Cut the yarn and pull through the loop.
Stuff the cone.
Ice cream (bottom ball):?
Ch 21. Close to a ring with a sl st.
Round 1: sc 21.
Round 2: * sc 2, sc 2 in the next st*. Repeat ** (= 28 sts).
Round 3: * sc 3, sc 2 in the next st*. Repeat ** (= 35 sts).
Rounds 4-6: sc 35.
Round 7: *sc 3, sc2tog.* Repeat ** (= 28 sts).
Round 8: *sc 2, sc2tog.* Repeat ** (= 21 sts).
Round 9: *sc 1, sc2tog.* Repeat ** (= 14 sts).
Round 10: working in the back loop only, sc2tog to end. Cut the yarn and pull through the loop. (= 7 sts).
Strawberry sauce?
Attach the yarn in one of the loops of round 10.
Round 1: sc 2 in each st (= 28 sts).
Round 2: * sc 3, sc 2 in the next st*. Repeat ** (= 35 sts).
Round 3: sc 35.
Round 4: sc 1, dc 1, trc 2 in next st, dc 1, sc 1, sl st 2, sc 1, dc 2 in next st, sc 1, sl st 4, sc 1, dc 1, trc 2 in next st, dc 1, sc 1, sl st 1, sc 1 , dc 1, trc 2 in next st, dc 1, sc 1, sl st 4, sc 1, dc 2 in next st, sc 1, sl st 3. Cut the yarn, but leave a long tail, to attach the strawberry sauce to the ice cream.
Stuff the ball of ice cream and attach to the cone.
Ice cream (top ball):?
Start with a magic ring and sc 6 in the ring.
Round 1: sc 2 in each st (= 12 sts).
Round 2: * sc 1, sc 2 in the next st*. Repeat ** (= 18 sts).
Round 3: sc 1, *sc 2 in next st, sc 2*. Repeat **, ending with sc 1 (= 24 sts).
Rounds 4-6: sc 24.
Round 7: *sc 2, sc2tog.* Repeat ** (= 18 sts).
Round 8: *sc 1, sc2tog.* Repeat ** (= 12 sts). Stuff the ball.
Round 9: sc2tog to end (= 6 sts).
Round 10: sc 6.
Pull the remaining stitches together and bind off. Attach the ball of ice cream on top.
Dripping ice cream?
Long droplet: ch 6, starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc 2, hdc 3. Cut the yarn and pull through the loop.
Short droplet: ch 4, starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc 1, hdc 2. Cut the yarn and pull through the loop.
Attach the droplets to the ice cream. Add sprinkles with Phildar Carnaval.
