Attaching the tree on cardboard
Attach the Christmas tree on cardboard with duplex tape. First apply the tape on the tree. Do not be too thrifty but royally apply long pieces of tape on the tree.
Attach the tree to the cardboard, start with the top and carefully go downwards. Press the tree firmly. Cut the cardboard around the tree such that you no longer see the cardboard. This is best done when you hold a ruler next to the edges of the tree. Push your crochet work a little bit to the inside and cut the cardboard. In this way, the cardboard stays under your crochet work and.
Cups for tea lights
The cups are crocheted with hook no. 4. Sc. 8 in a magic ring.
Row 1: Sc. 2 in each st. (16 st.)
Row 2: *Sc. 1, sc. 2 in next st.* Repeat until end (24 st.)
Row 3: Sc. 24 in the back loops.
Row 4: Sc. 24
Row 5: Sc. 24
Row 6: Sl. St. 24
Cast off. Make 8 cups the same way.
Attaching the cups
Attach a cup on each top of the Christmas tree by pinning 2 holes in the cardboard (appr. 2 cm apart). With a needle and thread, pull a yarn through the cup from the outside to the inside and 1 cm next to it from the inside to the outside. Pull the ends of the yarn through the holes on the cardboard and tie a knot.
