Knitted pillow - The most beautiful home accessories are self made! Beautiful lampshades and warm blankets, cute baskets and pretty decorated vases. We have used the sturdy yarn Phil Express to make a gorgeous, robust knitted pillow. Want to know how we did it? Continue reading our blog...

Phildar Phil Express is a super chunky yarn made of 80% acrylic and 20% wool. The yarn feels light and has an airy, twisted structure. Used together with needles no. 10-12, it is easy to knit or crochet a snood, a warm scarf or a beautiful sweater! However, our editor's favourite is this sturdy pillow knitted in moss stitch. This pattern is very suitable for the less experienced knitters among us and using a super chunky yarn yields a quick result. Do you know how to make knit and purl stitches? Then you can do this too!

Material for knitting the Express pillow:
- 3 balls (40 x 40 cm) or 4 balls (45 x 45 cm) Phildar Phil Express
Knitting needles no. 10

Pattern Knitted Pillow:

Stitches used:
Moss stitch: cast on an odd number of stitches.
Row 1: *knit 1, purl 1*, repeat *-* and end with a knit st.
Row 2 and all other rows: repeat the 1st row.

20 cm moss st. with knitting needles no. 10 = 13 stitches and 25 rows.

Size pillow: 45 x 45 cm, (40 x 40 cm)

Cast on 31 (27) st. with knitting needles no. 10 and knit in moss st.

When you work has a total height of 45 (40) cm, loosely cast off all st.

Knit a second same piece for the back of the pillow.

Attach both sides together. Before you close the last side of the pillow, fill it with stuffing or insert your pillow.
