This cuddly crocheted coffee cup is multifunctional! It is super soft, does not break when it falls and because of the addition of the tape measure you can use it - besides the pin cushion - as a tape line. We have chosen the Yarnplaza signature colours and created a beautiful fresh pink cup filled with dark roasted coffee. Of course you can make your own design and pick your favourite colours. What do you need?
- 1 ball Phildar Coton 3 colour Oeillet (34) and Cappucino (80)
- Crochet hook no. 2
- Stitch ring markers
- Stuffing
- Optional: tape measure 5 cm ø
Stitches used:
Sl.st. = Slip stitch
Sc. = Single crochet
Ch. = Chain
Dc. = Double crochet
Hdc. = Half double crochet
Trc. = Triple crochet
Tch. = Turning chain
The number of stitches is indicated between ( ) at the end of each round.
Tip: to keep sight on the beginning of each round, it is useful to use a stitch ring marker. The marker is put in the 1st sc. of your round and is taken up each round.
Crochet A Coffee Cup - Free Pattern:
Start at the bottom of the cup.
Round 1: With colour Oeillet (colour 34) sc. 6 in a magic ring or start the following way; Ch. 2, sc. 6 in the 1st ch, sl.st. 1 in the 1st sc. (6).
Round 2: Sc. 2 in each st. (12).
Round 3: Sc. 2 in each 2nd st. (18).
Round 4: Sc. 1, *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc. 2*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the round, but end with sc. 1 (24).
Round 5: Sc. 2 in each 4th st. (30).
Round 6: Sc. 2, *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc. 4*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the round, but end with sc. 2 ( 36).
Round 7: Sc. 2 in each 6th st. (42).
Round 8: Work this round in the back loops such that single loops are created on the outside of your work. Sc. 42 (42).
Round 9: Work this round in the back loops such that single loops are created on the outside of your work. Ch. 3 (=dc. 1). Dc. 15, ch. 1, skip 1 st., dc. until the end of the round and end with a sl.st. in the 3rd ch. of the first dc. (42).
Round 9 (no tape measure): Work this round in the back loops such that single loops are created on the outside of your work. Sc. 42 (42).
Round 10: Work this round in the back loops such that single loops are created on the outside of your work. Sc. 42 (42).
Round 10 (no tape measure): Sc. 42 (42).
Put the tape measure with the push button down in your crochet work. Draw the end of the tape measure through the crocheted hole of round 9.
(If you make the coffee cup without the tape measure you can continue at round 14)
Round 11: Decrease 6. Sc. each 6th and 7th st. tog. (36).
Round 12: Decrease 6. Sc. each 5th and 6th st. tog. (30).
Round 13: Decrease 6. Sc. each 4th and 5th st. tog. (24). Cast off. You don't need to weave in the ends because this will be on the inside of your work. Cast on a new yarn of colour Oeillet (colour 34) in the outside loops of round 10.
Rounds 14 - 24: Sc. 42 each round (42).
Round 25: Work this round in the front loops such that single loops are created on the inside of your work. Sc. 42 (42).
Rounds 26 - 28: Sc. 42 each round (42).
Round 29: Change colour to Cappucino (colour 80). Work this round in the inside loops of round 25. Sc. 42 (42).
Round 30: Decrease 6. Sc. each 6th and 7th st. tog.(36).
Round 31: Decrease 6. Sc. each 5th and 6th st. tog. (30).
Round 32: Decrease 6. Sc. each 4th and 5th st. tog. (24).
Round 33: Decrease 6. Sc. each 3rd and 4th st. tog. (18).
Stuff the cup firmly.
Round 34: Decrease 6. Sc. each 2nd and 3rd st. tog. (12).
Round 35: Decrease 6. Sc. 2 tog. Repeat until the end of the round and cast off. Draw the yarn through the 6 remaining sts. and pull it tight. Weave in the ends.
Crochet Pattern Saucer:
Cast on a new yarn of colour Oeillet (colour 34) in the outside loops of round 8. Insert your hook from bottom to top.
Round 1: Sc. 42 (42).
Round 2: Sc. 3, *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc. 6*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the round, but end with sc. 3 (48).
Round 3: Sc. 2 in each 8th st. (54).
Round 4: Sc. 4, *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc. 8*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the round, but end with sc. 4 (60).
Round 5: Sc. 2 in each 10th st. (66).
Round 6: Sc. 5, *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc. 10*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the round, but end with sc. 5 (72).
Round 7: Sc. 2 in each 12th st. (78).
Round 8: Sc. 6, *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc. 12*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the round, but end with sc. 6 (84).
Round 9: Sc. 2 in each 14th st. (90).
Round 10: Sc. 90 (90). Cast off and weave in the ends. Cast on a new yarn of Oeillet (colour 34) in the outside loops of round 9. Insert your hook from top to bottom.
Round 1: Sc. 42 (42).
Round 2: Sc. 3, *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc. 6*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the round, but end with sc. 3 (48).
Round 3: Sc. 2 in each 8th st. (54).
Round 4: Sc. 4, *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc. 8*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the round, but end with sc. 4 (60).
Round 5: Sc. 2 in each 10th st. (66).
Round 6: Sc. 5, *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc. 10*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the round, but end with sc. 5 (72).
Round 7: Sc. 2 in each 12th st. (78).
Round 8: Sc. 6, *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc. 12*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the round, but end with sc. 6 (84).
Round 9: Sc. 2 in each 14th st. (90).
Round 10: Attach this round to round 10 of the bottom of the plate. Work 90 sl.st. THis way the plate will bend a little up. Cast off and weave in the ends.
Ear:
Start on the bottom side of the cup.
Round 1: With colour Oeillet (colour 34) sc. 6 in a magic ring or start the following way; Ch. 2, sc. 6 in the 1st ch., sl.st. 1 in the 1st sc. (6).
Round 2: Sc. 2 in each 2nd st. (9).
Round 3: Work this round in the back loops such that single loops are created on the outside of your work. Sc. 9 (9).
Rounds 4 - 20: Sc. 9 each round (9). Cast off and stuff the ear a little. You can use your crochet hook to push the stuffing down. Attach the ear to the cup.
