Crochet designer Sue Pinner has been the lucky one to design the latest Stylecraft CAL. Inspired by the fairground, carousels and the circus she designed a colourful and unique blanket! As from the 13th of September, 6 patterns will be released over 3 months allowing you to join in the greatest CAL of Stylecraft this year. By combining different geometrical shapes with bright colours, you'll create a bold and festive blanket in only 3 months!
But how does the design of such a colourful blanket come about? Sue Pinner played with different ideas and started out with creating shapes with paper and cardboard. Then she crocheted different trial versions until she yielded the perfect blanket. Resulting in a unique, colourful and festive design with the well-known red and white circus colours.
Everything you need to know about the CAL - Carousel Blanket
As we know, the patterns of a Crochet Along will be published in different instalments. Below we've outlined the different publishing dates, the required materials and the size of the blanket. Tuesday the 13th of September the first pattern will be published so make sure you're ready to get going!
Patterns:
- Stylecraft will publish six patterns in total. The first two patterns will be seven days apart, then the remaining patterns will be revealed every other week!
- The patterns will be published the 13th and 20th of September, 4th of October, 20th October, 1st of November and the 15th of November.
- The patterns are available to download as from 10:30 am at the Stylecraft website!
Yarns:
The blanket comes in two different versions: one is made with the wellknown Stylecraft Special DK and the other one with the new yarn Stylecraft Batik. We're only offering the yarn kit of the Special DK. This 100% acrylic yarn is from an outstanding quality, feels super soft and is very suitable for blankets because of its light weight and supple thread.
Size:
When you're about to start a project you'd love to know what size your end result will have. This blanket will be appr. ± 152cm width.
