A warm wrap is always a good idea. And how fun is it to make one yourself? Monique has crocheted this beautiful wrap in no time!
This special model can easily be wrapped around you and the armhole makes it super convenient to wear. This royal shawl is made of the warm yarn Lana Grossa Garzato Fleece. This thread consists of 70% alpaca and 30% polyamide and has a light fluffy, fleece like look. By using beautiful crossed stitches this garzato fleece wrap looks elegant and fashionable!
Materials:
- 8 x Garzato Fleece colour 24
- Crochet hook no. 8 and 9 mm
Stitches used:
Ch. = Chain
Sc. = Single crochet
Dc. = Double crochet
FPdc. = Front post double crochet: yarn over, insert from front around the dc. of the previous row and finish your dc. as a normal dc.
Gauge
10 x 10 cm = 12 dc. x 11 rows.
Garzato Fleece Wrap - Free Crochet Pattern
With crochet hook no. 9 start with a foundation chain that's a multiple of 3 + 2, plus 1 for the foundation ch.
Ch. 102 + 2 + 1 (105 sts.)
Continue with crochet hook no. 8.
Rows 1 - 4: Sc. 104.
Row 5: Continue with crochet hook no. 9. Ch. 3 (= 1 dc.), *skip 2 sts. and dc. 1, ch. 1, dc. 1 in the 1st of the 2 skipped sts.* Repeat from *to* until the end, dc. 1 in the last st.
Row 6: Ch. 1, sc. 1 in each st. and in each ch. space (104 sts.)
Row 7: Ch. 3 (= 1 dc.) *Skip 2 sts. and dc. 1, ch. 1, fpdc. 1 around the dc. of the 1st of the 2 sts. you skipped before* Repeat from *to* until the end, dc. 1 in the last st.
Rows 8 - 64: Repeat rows 6 and 7 alternately.
Row 65: From now on we'll work 2 parts separately (2 x 52 sts.) Work crossed dc. just like row 7 over the 52 sts. End with dc. 1 in the same st. as the last normal dc. (53 sts.)
Row 66: Sc. 53
Rows 67 - 139: Repeat rows 6 and 7 alternately (start with row 7)
Rows 140 - 143: Sc. 53 with crochet hook no. 8. Cast off.
Continue the 2nd part of 53 sts. by casting on a new yarn just beside the st. where you ended row 65.
Ch. 3, skip 1 st. instead of 2, dc. 1, ch. 1, fpdc. 1, continue until the end like the rows before. End with dc. 1. The next row is a row of sc. Continue alternately until you've got 55 rows.
Row 56: In this row we'll work the armhole. Sc. 20, ch. 21, skip 21 sts., sc. 12.
Row 57: Ch. 3, 4 cross dc. with fpdc. until the ch. space. Skip 2 ch., dc. 1, ch. 1, dc. 1 in the 1st of the 2 sts. you've skipped before. Work 7 cross dc., end with 6 crossed dc. with fpdc., dc. 1.
Rows 58 - 75: Repeat rows 6 and 7 alternately.
Rows 76 - 79: Sc. 53 with crochet hook no. 8
Work with crochet hook no. 8 a round of sc. (+-160 sts,) around the neckline and front.
Spray block the wrap first (105 x 142 cm see pattern chart), damp it and leave it to dry overnight.
To finish work 4 round of sc. around both edges with crochet hook no. 8 (+- 112 sts. on each side)
