A new summer top is always a good idea to add to your wardrobe! This top made of Lana Grossa 365 Cotone and Katia Louisiana is a easy and fun pattern to knit and a delight to wear. The simple model is knitted using a twisted stockinette stitch, giving it that extra elegant look and making it the perfect pattern for the novice knitter!
Lana Grossa 365 Cotone is a delicately braided cotton yarn that feels super soft and light weight. Combined with the effect yarn Katia Lousiana, it's the ideal look for creating beautiful cardigans, sweaters and of course tops!
- 3 (4) balls Lana Grossa 365 Cotone colour 35
- 4 (5) balls Katia Louisiana colour 70
- Knitting needles no. 8mm and 10mm
This top is slightly shorter but will get longer when wearing it because it's made of cotton for the most part. Do you want to make it longer? Then for both sizes take 1 ball extra.
S/M and L
S/M: width 56 cm & length 59 cm
L: width 61 cm & length 65 cm
- Twisted Purl Stitch:
With a normal purl stitch you insert in the front loop. For the twisted purl stitch, insert in the back loop from right to left and draw it forward. Yarn over and slip the stitch through the bottom part of the stitch where the two threads cross each other.
- Twisted Knit Stitch:
Witch a normal knit stitch you insert in the front loop. For the twisted knit stitch, insert in the back loop and knit as usual.
Repeat these 2 rows.
10 x 10 cm = 12 sts. and 13 rows on needles size 10 mm
V-neck Summer Top in Twisted Stockinette - Free Knitting Pattern
The numbers for size L are in between ( ).
Cast on 66 (74) sts. with needles no. 8 mm. Knit 2 rows twisted stockinette and start with a purl row. Continue with needles no. 10mm until the 50th (56th) row. For the 51st row, seperate your work in two equal parts and knit them separately. Cast off after 70 (76) rows.
Cast on 66 (74) sts. with needles no. 8 mm. Knit 2 rows twisted stockinette and start with a purl row. Continue with needles no. 10mm until the 60th (66th) row. For the 61st row, separate your work in two equal parts and knit them separately. Cast off after 70 (76) rows.
Join the shoulder seams of the front and back with a mattress stitch. Close the side seams and leave about 16 cm open for the armholes. You can adjust the size of the armhole by closing it less or more farther.
