This month we're tackling the honeycomb stitch. It gets its name from the hexagonal cells that resemble those built by bees into a honeycomb. In 4 easy steps, this stitch creates a subtle honeycomb relief pattern across your knitted fabric. A gorgeous structure that's perfect for blankets and decorative cushions, as well as sweaters and other items of clothing. The honeycomb stitch doesn't just look special, it also produces a somewhat thicker fabric thanks to the relief pattern. In summary: Master another fun stitch and use it to produce a fabulous accessory or piece of clothing that will keep you warm... That's what you call a win-win-win situation!
Fun fact: The wrong side of your knitted work will eventually be your right side! The honeycomb structure emerges on the 'wrong' side of your work.

Abbreviations used
edge st = edge stitch
k = knit
p = purl
LH = left-hand
RH = right-hand
st(s) = stitch(es)
RS = right side of your work
WS = wrong side of your work
TL = twist right (uses 2 sts): Knit the second st on your LH needle, going around the back of the first st, without dropping any sts. Knit the first st as usual, then drop both sts from the LH needle.
TR = twist left (uses 2 sts): Knit the second st on your LH needle, going through the front, without dropping any sts. Knit the first st as usual, then drop both sts from the LH needle.
The pattern consists of a 4-row repeat. To begin, cast on a multiple of 4 stitches, plus an edge stitch on both sides. For our swatch, we cast on 22 sts.
Row 1 (RS): 1 edge st, *TR,TL*. Repeat * to *, ending with 1 edge st.
Rows 2 and 4: 1 edge st, purl all remaining sts, ending with 1 edge st.
Row 3: 1 edge st, *TL, TR*. Repeat * to *, ending with 1 edge st.
