Time for a new Stitch of the Month with a summery touch! With a little help from us at Yarnplaza, you’re going to learn to knit the peacock's tail stitch this August. It’s a special lace stitch with which to let your creativity run wild.

Lace patterns are HOT! Thankfully, only proverbially, because what really you want during these warm summer months is a wardrobe made of open-worked fabrics. Fabrics that are wonderfully light and breezy to wear. A cool summer top, a fine knitted cardigan, a playful shawl… Yes, please! Enter the peacock's tail stitch.

The peacock's tail stitch is the starting point to launch into the wonderful world of lace knitting. Not too difficult to knit, but with impressive results. The peacock's tail stitch is a ‘golden oldie’ that you frequently find in traditional wear from yesteryear. By combining the peacock's tail stitch with the latest yarns and designs, your accessories and garments evoke pure nostalgia with a modern twist. The best of both worlds!

Do you have the basic knitting stitches under your belt? Then read on to find the free knitting pattern for this beautiful lace pattern, as well as a detailed video tutorial. These feathers will simply fly off your needles.
