Christmas is always special, but this year, even more so. Our celebrations are more intimate, restricted to the small circle of people who have a special place in our hearts. But that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten our other loved ones who can’t be with us. This year particularly is one for sending extra special, personalized Christmas cards. A loving message straight from the heart. So, we thought we’d put together a little how-to to help you make some truly unique Christmas cards.
So, first of all, what do you need? Not much! The only materials required are:
• blank cards • scraps of yarn • a crochet hook suitable for your yarn • glue or (washi) tape
For our cards, we’ve crocheting Christmas trees, snowflakes, stockings and a Christmas angel. We used a 2.5 mm crochet hook and scraps of Phildar Coton 3, but of course, you can use whatever cotton you have in your stash.

Once you’ve crocheted your Christmas figure, stick it onto the front of your card with some glue. Another fun idea is to attach it with some washi tape instead. That way it’s easy for the lucky recipient to take it off the card and hang it on their tree as a Christmas ornament. A gift and card in one!
Write a warm Christmas greeting and your Christmas card is ready to pop through their letter box. Happy crocheting!
