Yes! Our Yarnplaza Spring Week begins today. We have great offers, discounts, and blog posts in store for you all week long. Today, we kick off with an interview with Petra, the owner of Yarnplaza. We asked her a number of spring-themed questions. Read on to see what she had to say.
I think I’m like most people. I love the feel of those first warm rays of sunshine and hearing the birds chirping in the garden.
A shawl! Spring mornings and evenings tend to be quite cool still, so a shawl is a wonderful thing to have on hand. I enjoy using fresh colors to make them at this time of year.
I love soft powdery colors, like light pink and beige. But I also like shades of green, gray, and blue.
With the weather (hopefully) warming up in spring, I prefer working with less thick yarn. I do like yarns with some wool content, such as Lana Grossa Ecopuno, which is made from 72% cotton, 17% merino wool, and 11% alpaca wool. Yarn and Colors Joy is also one of my all-time favorites. I also enjoy working with hairy yarn, such as Yarn and Colors Elegant. This kind of yarn is fun as you can choose whether to work with one or more strands in your projects.
I have a number of great cardigans on my to-do list this spring. Also, my walls are looking a bit bare, so I'm going to make some wall hangings to hang up.
I’d love to learn to embroider! Hopefully I'll find the time for that this season.
At the moment, I’m working on a spring cardigan using Yarn and Colors Elegant. It’s a ton-sur-ton project that’s taking shape really nicely. Pattern on the way!
I’m most proud of our last two Dream Blankets. I designed the knitted versions of these two blankets and had a lot of fun creating them. It's a great feeling, seeing other people make your pattern.
We’re constantly extending our collection. Among the many new additions, we’ve added loads of embroidery products to inspire you, as well as accessories for macramé and all sorts of haberdashery items, such as buttons (lots!) and labels. We’ve also stocked a number of handy gadgets and gizmos that will improve your crafting experience, making it easier and more pleasant. And much, much more…
Make time for me-time! Those pockets of time when you can crochet, knit, or do whatever form of handicraft you prefer, are simply wonderful. A bonus tip: Treat yourself every now and then to some new hooks or needles or buy those accessories or storage cases that you’ve had your eye on for a long time. It’s so satisfying!
