Shades of Merino Cotton Scarves -  The fall season is sober? These beautiful scarves prove us otherwise! This season we see a lot of soft and pastel shades as we can see in this cute knitting- and crochet pattern. This week we're showing you two different ways to use the beautiful gradient yarn Lana Grossa Shades of Merino!

Whether you're more into knitting or crocheting, you can never have enough scarves. Specially for the sunny autumn days, a scarf is the perfect accessory to brighten up your outfit. Make such a beautiful scarf for yourself, your daughter or give it as a present to someone special. The gorgeous colours of this scarf will look good on anyone. Rather want another colour? Lana Grossa Shades of Merino Cotton is available in 6 different shades. This yarn made of merino wool and cotton consists of 4 thin threadsw with smooth colour transitions. For making such a scarf you only need one skein.

Knitted Scarf

Materials:
- 1 ball Lana Grossa Shades of Merino Cotton
- Circular knitting needles no. 4mm, 80 cm

Size:+/- 160 x 58,5 cm

Stitches used:
- Edge = Knit the first st. of each row. For the last stitch of each row slip it purlwise, where you lead the yarn in front of the stitch.
- Fantasy Pattern = Knit according to the pattern chart. The numbers at the richt indicate the right side rows. For the wrong side rows, knit the sts. as they occur. Start with the 3 sts. indicated in between the arrows. As from the 3rd row, increate 1 st. at the left side in each 2nd row. For the width, repeat the indicated light grey part (= 12 sts.) of the pattern chart. After row 95 you'll have 50 sts. on your needles. For the height of the scarf, knit row 1 - 96 once, then repeat rows 73 – 96 (= 24 sts.), whereby you knit the increases on the left side according to the pattern.

Cast on 3 sts. and knit in fantasy pattern. After row 95 increase each 2nd row 85 times 1 st. = 135 sts. After 80 cm = 269 rows you've reached the middle. Continue the same way only in reversed shape. End with the garter pattern For the sloping of the dge decrease each 2nd row 132 times 1 st. Knit 2 sts. tog. before the edge st. When you've got 3 sts. left, knit 2 rows garter. Cast off the last 3 sts.

Finishing:
Spray block your scarf and let it dry. Weave in the loose ends.

Shades of Merino Scarf - Free Crochet Pattern

Materials:
- 1 ball Lana Grossa Shades of Merino Cotton
- Crochet hook no. no. 4,5mm

Size: 1/2 Ø of ± 70 cm

Swatch: the first 9 rows of the pattern will have a radius of ± 15 cm

Stitches used:
- Shell Pattern: work according to the pattern chart. Ch. 4, sl.st. 1 in the first ch. to close it in a round. Dc. 13 in the ring, ch. 3 for the first dc. The numbers De getallen staan telkens aan het begin van de rij. Continue the next row with the number of ch. indicated in the pattern chart. These ch. replace the first st. of the row. The last st. of the row must be inserted in the ch. of the previous row. The pattern chart shows the 1st – 18th row. As from row 19 continue according to the pattern chart and complete the other half of the pattern by working in reversed way. At the end of the row work a dc. instead of the ch. The arrows right and above indicate one half of the scarf. The other half needs to be completed by working the first half in reversed shaping. On top of the clusters of dc. work the stems and shells just like is indicated in the first half. As from row 35 – 42 on top of each shell work 3 stems and a shell the same way, whereby you work the clusters of ch. only once inbetween the motifs. Connect the groups of three within the chains like is indicated in the chart.

Start at the middle of the scarf. Ch. 4. Work accoring to the shell pattern, whereby you follow the first 18 rows according to the pattern chart. As from row 19 – 34 work according to the same pattern as is indicated in the chart for the other half. In the 35th – 42nd row complete the cluster of 3 shells as is indicated in the chart for the rest of the sts., so in between the indicated clusters add 2 groups of 3 clusters and from the middle onwards continue the same pattern in reversed way. Cast off after row 42 = 70 cm from the beginning.

Finishing:
Spray block your scarf and let it dry. Weave in the loose ends.
