Basket Knitting Pattern (the ochre-yellow one)

Requirements:
- 5 balls of Katia North, color 83
- Circular Knitting Needle, size 8, 80 cm
- size 12 Knitting Needles

Stitches used:
Magic Loop, stockinette stitch, increase, selvedge stitch.

Note: Knit with two strands of yarn!

Steps:

Soil
Using the Circular Knitting Needle, cast on 6 knit stitches using the Magic Loop method.

1st row: knit stitches.
2nd row: increase each stitch to 2 (= 12 stitches)
Knit all odd rows in stockinette stitch without increasing.
4th row: *knit 1 stitch, knit 2 stitches from the 2nd stitch* repeat this ( =18 stitches)
6th row: *knit 2 stitches, knit 2 stitches from the 3rd stitch (= 24 stitches)
On all even rows, increase by 1 stitch each time, and then knit 2 stitches together.

Up to the 24th row: knit 24 stitches, then increase in the 25th stitch.
The total number of stitches is 72.

Next, loosely bind off.

Edge of the basket
:
Cast on 20 stitches on needle size 12 using double yarn. Knit in garter stitch.

Knitting with the edge stitch: beginning of row 1e Insert the needle into the stitch with the yarn twisted and knit it; at the end of the row, bring the yarn to the front (as if you were going to purl) and slip the last stitch without knitting it.

If your basket is 1 meter long, measure its circumference. Sew the seams closed and attach the rim to the bottom.

It consists of 12 chains that you single crochet to the edge with a slip stitch; then you work another row of single crochet around the edge.

Other possibilities
Katia North isn’t just any old ball of yarn. It’s a very soft, lightweight yarn with a loosely twisted texture. It’s not just ideal for knitting or crocheting a basket. You can also use North to make the softest, coziest winter scarves and hats. Curious about all the beautiful colors? Take a look now!
