What is Knit in Public Day?
Knit in Public Day falls on June 10 this year and was founded by Danielle Landes in 2005. It’s a day when you can do crafts together with others. Since crafting is generally a pretty “solitary” hobby, this day is meant to share Inspiration and work on projects together in the company of other crafters. Round up your friends and family and head outside with your craft projects!

What can you do or organize during Knit in Public Day?
1. Craft gathering at your local café
Gather some friends and/or family and bring your craft projects to your favorite or local café! Work on your projects together while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea, and have fun crafting in the company of others! If you have a large group, be sure to check with the café owner beforehand. That way, they won’t be caught off guard!
2. Teach a beginner's class to friends who don't do crafts
Do you have friends or family members who haven’t tried crafting yet? This is the perfect time to get them hooked on crafting! Invite your friends and/or family over to your garden or another fun spot, and teach them the basics of crafting! Another perk of this is: You might just end up with even more crafting friends!
3. Enjoying great music and meeting new crafters
An official gathering for Knit in Public Day is being organized in Amsterdam: Knits and Notes! This gathering will take place on a (hopefully) sunny outdoor terrace in Amsterdam. It’s mainly intended for knitters, so bring your Knitting Needles and meet new crafting friends while enjoying the fresh air and some chill (jazz) music! Check out the Knit in Public Day website for all the details.
4. A fun day at the Yarnplaza Inspiration Center!
Gather all your crafting friends and head over to our inspiration center for a fun day out! Our large store, brimming with inspiration, is located at Doornepool 5 in Zaltbommel. Browse through our extensive collections of yarn and projects together, and enjoy some crafting in our coffee corner!
