Coffee & Wool S02 - Episode 1

We’re kicking off the new season with a new studio, fresh projects, and lots of enthusiasm. Saskia is starting with a baby blanket, Lotte is stopping by KreaVak, and Petra is telling us all about the Katia Winter Yarns and getting started on her knitted stitch scarf. Want to join us?

In this blog, you'll find everything about Episode 1 of Season 2. Including:

- The Crochet Pattern for the zigzag baby blanket
- The knitting pattern for the first border of the stitch scarf

Crocheting a Baby Blanket

Saskia is crocheting a baby blanket and absolutely loves it! Saskia: “I think the effect of using different types of yarn really comes through beautifully. Because the colors are so subdued, the texture of the yarn stands out even more. It gives me that ‘together we’re strong’ feeling!”

Material:
1 x Katia Merino Aran 3
1 x Phildar Paillettes 104
1 x Lana Grossa Silkhair 058 (double strand)
1 x Lana Grossa Estivo II, color 014
1 x Durable Brilliant 01
1 x Phildar Strass Light 32
- Crochet Hook size 4.5

You can download the pattern for the blanket for free here. Want to make sure you have the right number of balls of yarn on hand right away? You can also order the complete baby blanket Crochet Kit here.

Knit a Stitch Scarf

Following the success of last season’s crocheted stitch scarf, we’re kicking off this series with a knitted version. Petra isn’t afraid to experiment freely with challenging stitches. So brace yourself—but rest assured, the result will be beautiful and warm!

Petra explains that the scarf is knitted in two parts. Both parts follow the same pattern and will be sewn together at the end. Here you'll find more information about the stitch scarf.

Material:
1 x DROPS Eskimo 53, light gray.
- Crochet Hook size 5.5
- 40 cm 8 mm Knitting Needles.

Patterns for a knitted scarf:
1st row: *Cast on 1 stitch on a Knitting Needle, cast on 5 stitches on both the Knitting Needle and the Crochet Hook; using the Crochet Hook, pull the yarn through the 5 loops, then pull the yarn through the 1st loop again. Transfer the 2 loops to the right Knitting Needle* (1 ruffle = 3 stitches); repeat from * to * 11 times and finish by casting on 1 stitch onto the Knitting Needle ( = 37 stitches).
