Phildar Phil Express is a thick yarn made of 80% Acrylic and 20% Wool. The yarn feels light and has a loose twist. Using 10–12 mm needles, you can easily knit or crochet a cute turtleneck, a nice warm scarf, or a stylish cushion! This cushion is knitted in seed stitch, making it perfect for beginners. Materials for knitting the barley grain cushion:




Phil Express balls

Stitches used:

Barley stitch: for an odd number of stitches.
Row 1: *1 knit, 1 purl*, repeat from * to *, and end with 1 knit stitch.
2nd row: and all subsequent rows: knit as on the 1st row.

Gauge swatch:

20 cm of barley stitch on size 10 Knitting Needles = 13 stitches and 25 rows.

Cushion sizes:

45 x 45 cm, (40 x 40 cm)

Knitting a Barleycorn Cushion - Free Knitting Pattern

Cast on 31 (27) stitches using size 10 Knitting Needles and knit in seed stitch.

When the total height reaches 45 (40) cm, loosely bind off the stitches.

Knit a second piece for the Cushion.

Sew the two sides together. Before closing the fourth side, insert the stuffing or Cushion.
