Back
Panel: Cast on 1) 86, 2) 90, 3) 92 sts on size 4.5 needles and knit a 5 cm ribbing in 1 knit, 1 purl. Then continue in the ajour pattern (see stitches used). Repeat the 4 rows of the ajour pattern until the total height reaches 1) 41 cm, 2) 45 cm, 3) 50 cm, and knit a 5 cm ribbing in ribbing. Then loosely bind off all stitches.
Knit the front piece the same way as the back piece.
For the sleeve
, cast on 1) 50, 2) 50, 3) 56 stitches using a 4.5 needle and knit 5 cm in ribbing (knit 1, purl 1). Continue knitting in the openwork pattern using the stitches described. After 28 rows of the openwork pattern, increase 1 stitch on both sides. Increase 1 stitch on both sides 2 more times, on the 56th and 84th rows. When the total height reaches 53 cm, loosely bind off all stitches.
Knit a second sleeve just like the first one.
Finishing:
Right sleeve: Using size 4.5 needles, knit the trim in color 17. As you knit, pick up the stitches on the right side of the work from the right side of the sleeve, starting at the cuff (about 105 stitches). Knit 3 more rows in stockinette stitch using Yellow (color 17), then switch to Blue (color 23) on the next row and knit a total of 3 rows; on the 4th row, loosely bind off all stitches.
Left sleeve: Here, too, pick up the stitches along the right side of the left sleeve while knitting, on the right side of the work, starting at the cuff, but this time using color 23 (= blue). Again, work a total of 4 rows in stockinette stitch in blue and 4 rows in stockinette stitch in yellow (= color 17). Loosely bind off the stitches in the 4e needle.
Please note!! The front and back panels are knitted crosswise.
Sew the sleeve seams together, with the seam/stripes at the top of the sleeve. Close 13 cm on both upper sides for the shoulder seams (sides of the openwork section). The side seams of the front and back pieces are formed by placing the cuffs against each other (the sweater is knitted crosswise). Insert the sleeves and sew the side seams closed, leaving an 8-cm slit at the bottom of the side seam.
Knit a ribbing along the bottom edge of the sweater on the front and back panels. To do this, cast on approximately 115 stitches using color 17 (= Yellow). Knit 1, purl 1. Knit a total of 4 rows of ribbing in yellow, followed by 6 rows of ribbing in blue (= color 23). Bind off the stitches on the 6the Loosely remove the needle.
