Knit a Mesh Pattern - Stitch of the Month

Every month, we introduce a stitch that you can use to create all kinds of fun projects. A little something extra that’s just a little different from the usual. This time, we’re featuring a Knitting Pattern with a net-like texture. Perfect for summer projects and for endless variations!

A light and airy sweater, a stylish bag, or a trendy skirt for the beach? With this fun mesh pattern, anything is possible! This stitch offers lots of possibilities, and every project has a refreshing, summery look.

Explanation of the net pattern:

Knit as shown in the diagram. The numbers on the far left indicate the return row, and those on the far right indicate the forward row. Across the width, start the rows marked with “s.” before the first arrow; “pg.” = 2 s., and end after the second arrow. Up the height, repeat rows 1 through 4 continuously.

We’re knitting this stitch with Muskat by DROPS (color 40). This Egyptian mercerized cotton is spun from multiple strands, making the yarn strong and durable. It also feels super soft and has a slight sheen. Choose one of the many colors, and you can get started on your unique summer project. Isn’t that wonderful?

This stylish summer sweater is made using the net stitch. The pattern is from Lana Grossa’s *Filati Classici* No. 7. Of course, you can experiment endlessly with colors, yarns, and the pattern. Let your creativity run wild!
