This herringbone stitch is a great way to make beautiful Home Accessories and really stands out when worked with thick yarn. In this example, we’ve started on a small rug—perfect for placing a plant on or as a decorative accent on a chair. Once you’ve mastered the stitch, let your creativity run wild and get started on blankets, throws, or other fun projects!

We started knitting with Yarn and Colors Urban. Urban is a thick, skein-style yarn made of wool and Acrylic, and it’s ideal for making Home Accessories. Choose your favorite from the beautiful color palette and get started on your favorite project right away!
Tools & Supplies:
- 1 ball of Yarn and Colors Urban, color 15 Mustard
- KnitPro Jumbo Circular Knitting Needle, 25 mm
Herringbone Stitch Knitting Pattern:
Cast on 20 stitches. Of course, you can adjust the number of stitches to suit your project.
Needle 1: Knit all stitches.
Needle 2: *Knit two stitches together through the back loops, but slip only the first stitch of the needle.* Repeat from *-* to the end of the row. Knit the last stitch as usual.
Needle 3: *Knit two stitches together, but slip only the first stitch of the needle.* Repeat from *-* to the end of the row. Knit the last stitch as usual.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 alternately to create the herringbone pattern.
