A new “Stitch of the Month” with a summery touch! This August, Yarnplaza will teach you how to knit the peacock stitch—a unique openwork stitch that lets you give your creativity free rein.
Openwork patterns are all the rage! Fortunately, since during the hot summer months, openwork garments are wonderfully light and airy. A trendy top, a delicate knit Cardigan, a playful shawl… YES, PLEASE! :)
The peacock stitch is the perfect introductory stitch to the wonderful world of ajour knitting. It’s not too difficult to knit, but it creates a stunning effect. The peacock stitch is a “good old classic” that you’ll find in traditional folk costumes, among other places. By combining the peacock stitch with the new yarns and designs, your accessories and garments will be pure nostalgia with a modern twist.
Once you've mastered the basic knitting stitches, you're sure to create a beautiful lace pattern after following this free pattern and the detailed instructional video.
