Rico Creative Twist Cardigan

Back panel

Cast on 45 (49) sts using size 10 needles and knit 3 rows in ribbing. Begin with a return row and 1 st purled. On the 4th row, knit the stitches as follows: 16 (18) sts in the base pattern, 6 sts in cable pattern 1, slip 1 st with 1 yarn over purlwise, 6 sts in cable pattern 2, 16 (18) sts in the base pattern, beginning with slipping 1 st with 1 yarn over purlwise. When the piece measures 21 (23) cm <47 (49) cm>, begin decreasing for the raglan shaping. To do this, decrease 17x1 (18x1) stitches alternately on both sides every 2nd row and every 4th row. Begin shifting the cables at the same time. To do this, work in the base pattern until 2 sts before Cable Pattern 1: knit 1, purl 2 together, knit 6 sts of Cable Pattern 1, knit 1 st from the next crosswise thread of the previous row, knit 1 st from the next crosswise thread of the previous row, knit 6 sts of Cable Pattern 2, purl 2 together. Finish the row in the basic pattern. Continue to knit the knitted-together stitches in stockinette stitch and work the increased stitches in the basic pattern.
Repeat this shift every 6th row. As soon as the cable stitches on the outer edges are decreased, knit 3 sts together in each row with the shifts. Continue increasing from the crosswise threads as usual. When all cable stitches have been completed, continue to knit in the basic pattern. At a height of 50 (54) cm <76 (80) cm>, bind off the remaining 11 (13) sts.

Left front panel

Cast on 27 (31) sts using size 10 needles and knit 3 rounds in ribbing. Begin with a purl round. On the left side (the edge of the ribbing), knit a double edge stitch, then continue knitting, beginning with 1 st av. On the 4th row, knit the stitches as follows: knit 10 (12) stitches in the basic pattern, starting with 1 knit stitch, 6 stitches in cable pattern 1, 9 (11) stitches in the basic pattern, starting with 1 slip stitch with 1 yarn over as if to purl, double edge stitch. For the raglan shaping, at a height of 21 (23) cm <47 (49) cm>, knit the decreases on the right side as for the back. At a height of 45 (49) cm <71 (75) cm>, bind off 6 sts on the left side for the neckline. For the neckline, bind off 1 more stitch on the next 2nd row. Continue knitting the raglan decreases until 2 stitches remain on the needle. Bind off the last 2 stitches together according to the pattern to finish the piece.

Right front panel

Cast on 27 (31) sts with size 10 needles and knit 3 rounds in ribbing. Begin each round with 1 decrease and 1 st purl. Knit the double edge stitch at the end of the round. On the 4th row, knit the stitches as follows: double edge stitch, 9 (11) sts in the base pattern, starting with 1 st with 1 yarn over, knitted as if to purl. 6 sts in cable pattern 2, 10 (12) sts in the base pattern, starting with 1 st with 1 yarn over, knitted as if to purl. Finish the front piece the same way as the left front piece, but in the opposite direction.

Sleeves

Cast on 35 (39) sts <21 (25) sts> using size 10 needles and knit 3 rows in ribbing, starting with 1 decrease row and 1 st purl. Starting with the 4th row, continue knitting in the basic pattern. At a height of 17 (19) cm <43 cm>, begin the decrease rows for the raglan shaping. To do this, decrease 14x1 (16x1) stitches on each side by slipping them. Knit the decreases alternately 2 times every 4th row and 1 time every 2nd row (i.e., in the 4th, 8th, and 10th rows of every 10 rows). When the piece measures 46 (50) cm <72 (74) cm>, bind off the remaining 7 sts. Knit the second sleeve in the same way.

Finishing

For the collar, using size 8 needles, cast on 41 (47) sts from the neckline side, starting and ending 8 cm from the front edge, and knit in ribbing pattern. Work double edge stitches on both sides. When the piece measures 11 cm, loosely bind off the sts. Overlap the front panels by about 8 cm and invisibly attach the Snap Fastener to the top edge of the neckline.
