Have you always wanted to learn how to knit socks? Then join the new Scheepjes Summer Sock-a-long! From August 9 through 30, 2023, you’ll learn how to knit a fantastic pair of socks in just 4 weeks. The Summer Sock-a-Long, designed by Carmen of New Leaf Designs, is a colorful sock-knitting project for intermediate knitters and adventurous beginners! Are you up for the challenge?
How can you join the Scheepjes Summer Sock-a-long?
You can join the Summer Sock-a-long through Scheepjes’ official Facebook groups and designer Carmen’s blog. Starting August 9, a free version of the pattern for the Summer Sock-a-long Classic New Leaf Socks will be published on Carmen’s blog. The patterns cover sizes 35 through 47 and will be accompanied by detailed video tutorials and blog posts in both Dutch and English. Depending on your skill level, you can choose to knit the socks toe-up (starting at the toe) one at a time or knit two socks simultaneously on Circular Knitting Needles using the Magic Loop method. During the Sock-a-long, you’ll also learn useful techniques, such as Judy’s Magic Cast On, German short rows, and Lori’s Twisty Bind Off.

- 2.25mm Circular Knitting Needles with an 80cm cable (if you want to knit one sock at a time) or 2.25mm Circular Knitting Needles with a 100cm cable (if you want to knit two socks at the same time)
