Knitting a "Spekjes" Cushion - Free Pattern

Knitted cushions can go anywhere! One for your couch or to decorate the bed in your bedroom or the kids’ room. It’s precisely an eye-catching cushion like this that gives your home character! Petra knitted it using Yarn and Colors Epic in a simple stockinette stitch. Once you’ve mastered the knit and purl stitches, you can get started right away. Plus, the stockinette stitch really makes the graphic print on the knitted Cushion stand out even more. Do you think the bacon print is too bold? With a hundred different yarn colors to choose from, you can easily create your own combinations.

Tools & Supplies
- 2 balls of Yarn and Colors Epic in the following colors: Vanilla (10), Sunglow (13), Lollipop (36), and Pastel Pink (46)
- 5 mm Knitting Needles
- Inner cushion 50x50 cm

Stitches Used
Stockinette stitch = knit on the right side of the work and purl on the wrong side of the work.

Get Started with the Spekjes Cushion - Free Knitting Pattern

Cast on 96 stitches using color 13 (Sunglow) and purl the return row. Then begin working the count pattern using colors 13 (Sunglow) and 36 (Lollipop). Always bring the two strands behind the work along as you knit. Work a total of 12 triangles vertically.
Switch to color 10 (Vanilla) and knit 2 rows in stockinette stitch, then continue following the chart: knit a total of 12 small triangles in the color combination of color 10 (Vanilla) and 46 (Pastel Pink).
Finally, knit 1 row in stockinette stitch using color 10 (Vanilla), then loosely bind off all stitches.

Finishing
:
Gently press the fabric with a tea towel in between. Neatly sew the sides closed. Insert the inner cushion and neatly sew the top closed as well.
