Rico Essentials Big is the ideal yarn for knitting this bag. The yarn is sturdy and has a slightly thicker strand (Needle Size 7-8), which gives your bag a slightly chunky look and makes it quick to knit. Shall we get started?
Tools & Supplies
:- Rico Essentials Big: 4 Balls of color 18, 1 Ball of color 25, and 1 Ball of color 12
- Size 6 Knitting Needles (tight knit).
"Knitting a Bag" Pattern
Cast on 45 stitches.
Color 18: Knit 64 rows in garter stitch (knit every row).
Color 25: Knit 16 rows in garter stitch.
Color 12: Knit 8 rows in stockinette stitch (1 row knit, 1 row purl). On the 9th row, continue knitting 11 stitches in stockinette stitch, bind off 23 stitches, and knit the remaining 11 stitches. Continue knitting 11 stitches in stockinette stitch, cast on 23 stitches, and knit the remaining 11 stitches. Then knit 4 more rows in stockinette stitch. Bind off all stitches.
Finish:
Crochet a row of single crochets using color 12 into the opening of the handle. This provides extra strength. Place the two pieces on top of each other and sew them together. Weave in all loose ends.
