How to Knit a Twist Scarf

Knitting a Cowl Scarf - A nice, warm scarf with a simple pattern—who wouldn’t want that?! This scarf from Creative Twist has a luxurious look and is incredibly warm. Pair it with your thick winter coat or a cool leather jacket, and you’re all set for winter!

This cowl scarf is easily knitted in seed stitch. Do you know how to knit and purl? Then you can make this, too! By alternating the stitches, you’ll create a playful bobble pattern. Rico’s Creative Twist Super Chunky yarn is perfect for this scarf. Its twisted texture adds an extra dimension, and it feels exceptionally light.

To make sure you stay warm this winter, we’re also knitting a cute headband. It’s perfect if you have cold ears, and it looks super stylish, too! Want to mix things up? You can also leave the scarf straight and add some cute tassels. Style it however you like!

Headband Knitting Pattern:

From the adult-sized skein, you'll have about half a ball left over—enough to knit this awesome headband!

Material:
- Rico Creative Twist Super Chunky, color 1
- 8 mm Knitting Needles

Size: one size

Cast on 12 stitches using size 8 needles and knit 30 rows in stockinette stitch.

Bet on 31e (on the right side of your work) transfer the first 6 stitches to a cable needle and hold it behind your work. Now knit the other 6 stitches first, then slip the waiting stitches back onto your needle. Now knit these 6 stitches.

Now knit 30 rows in stockinette stitch, and bind off the stitches. Leave a long tail so you can sew the headband together.

Tip: Before binding off, make sure the headband fits properly. It should be a little snug so it doesn't slip down and keeps your ears nice and warm. If necessary, make it longer or shorter by knitting a few extra rows or decreasing a few.
