Saskia Shows Her True Colors - Fall

In “Saskia Shows Her Colors,” Saskia Laan, our very own Haakster, chooses her favorite colors each season. Colors that match the season, capture the spirit of the time of year, and feature yarn that’s a joy to crochet with. Curious about Saskia’s fall colors? Read all about her fall selections here.

Following her summer kit, Saskia has once again put together a kit of 20 beautiful colors. The 100% cotton Katia Capri balls remain a favorite. In this fall kit, you’ll find deep colors that are perfect for the fall table. You can order Saskia’s fall kit here.

Saskia created beautiful color combinations of shades of pink and red, shades of yellow, and shades of green and blue.

During summer vacation, Saskia crocheted bookmarks for the kids at her campsite. Now she’d like to share them with you. They’re fun to make in beautiful fall colors!

Crochet Pattern for a Flower Bookmark:

Crochet into a magic ring.

3 chain stitches, 3 treble crochets, 3 chain stitches, 1 single crochet. Repeat this 2 more times and join the round with a slip stitch in the first stitch. Chain a chain as long as needed to serve as the stem.
To make a tulip, crochet 5 double crochets into a magic ring. Remove your hook and pull the 5 double crochets together by pulling the first and last stitches together, then pull both ends through the center of the petals. Tie the ends together and fasten off.

These little flowers are, of course, cute as bookmarks, but I'm sure they can be used for lots of other things, too. What would you use them for?
