4. Going Green

Sustainability is a much-discussed and important topic. Lately, we’ve learned the hard way (more than we’d like!) that we need to take care of ourselves and the world. What if we could make our planet a little more beautiful just by pursuing our hobby? How cool would that be? You can probably guess where this is going—it’s possible! With the crochet projects from Yarn and Colors in Lookbook #10 Going Green. Crochet reusable makeup pads, a Cotton shower puff, a foldable shopping bag, and brightly colored cleaning wipes.

5. Crochet Projects for the Festive Month of December

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”… have you been counting down the days until Christmas for a while now? It’s definitely not too early to start a Christmas project. In fact, now is exactly the time to start, so that in a little while you can decorate your sparkling Christmas tree with all kinds of cool crocheted Christmas ornaments. And when you say December, you also say Sinterklaas. We have plenty of Crochet Patterns ready for you for this festive occasion, too.

6. Dream Blankets

Yarnplaza had a dream… to design a large, soft, beautiful throw blanket made up of the most beautiful stitches. And through a CAL/KAL (crochet-along and knit-along), let everyone join in crocheting and/or knitting this blanket! This dream has already come true four times: Dream Blanket 1.0, Dream Blanket 2.0, Dream Blanket 3.0, and (yes!) Dream Blanket 4.0! Make your dream come true, too, and create this special throw blanket. All Dream Blankets are very different and feature beautiful stitches that are clearly explained in the patterns and through video tutorials. Dream Blanket 2.0 and 4.0 can be made by both crocheting and knitting, while the other blankets can only be crocheted.

7. Crochet the cushion of your dreams

Would you like to crochet a cushion with a bohemian look (Ibiza vibe) in your favorite colors? And one that also matches your Dream Blanket (3.0)?! Then crochet the square or round Dream Cushion! Both cushions use different stitches but are inspired by the Dream Blanket 3.0. You can crochet both the round and square Dream Cushions using two colors of Yarn and Colors Happy. Once you’ve decided on the shape (square or round), you can choose between the standard color scheme—where color takes center stage—or the reversible Cushions. Cream is the main color of the reversible Cushions. Check out all the Dream Cushions!

8. Learn to knit a sweater with the Yarnplaza KAL

Have you always wanted to knit a sweater but could use some help? Then check out this KAL (Knit Along). In the fall of 2018, we held a really fun and educational KAL where you’ll learn step by step how to knit a basic sweater. By popular demand, the videos and patterns are still available. Get started and learn how to knit a sweater in 4 weeks with the help of our knitter Petra. Then you can enjoy this soft, trendy sweater that you knitted yourself! Check out the KAL | check out the Wooladdicts Butterfly Effect sweater Knitting Kit.

9. Keep your little one warm with crochet and knitting

Knit or crochet the cutest baby clothes and accessories yourself! These items will give you hours of enjoyable crafting and keep your little one warm all winter long. We’ve selected 3 kits that are sure to make every mom (or grandma) and baby very happy. Haakster finalist Eline Ermstrang designed a stylish baby blanket using the soft Yarn and Colors Baby Fabulous yarn. A showpiece for any nursery, playpen, or stroller. Even softer is this swaddle blanket made from the teddy yarn Yarn and Colors Furry. Perfect for wrapping your little one up after a bath or at the pediatrician’s office. And for the knitters and crocheters: the hooded baby jacket by Rico.

10. Discover punch needle and Smyrna

You might enjoy learning a different craft technique sometime. For example, punch needle and Smyrna. These techniques have been around for many years, but fortunately, they’re totally trendy again! With both punch needle and Smyrna, you can create beautiful little works of art on fabric. The punch needle is ideal for more delicate creations, while smyrna lets you make a voluminous rug, for example! In a clear blog post and video tutorial, we’ll show you how the punch needle works and what you’ll need. Would you rather get started with smyrna? Then check out the blog post on smyrna and get started with the free pattern for a wall hanging.
