Join the Punch Along (PAL) and make a mandala!

If you don’t feel like it, don’t have the time, or don’t have the energy to tackle a big project right now but would like to try out a new craft technique, why not join our 6-part PAL? “A PAL?” I can almost hear you ask. The abbreviation PAL stands for “Punch Along.” And with this Punch Along, we want to introduce craft enthusiasts to the embroidery technique known as punching with a punch needle. This way, in no time at all, you’ll be able to create the most beautiful home decor items, cuddly toys, and even accessories using nothing more than a punch needle, thread, and fabric on your lap. Are you curious to see if this popular technique is right for you? Then read on and join our PAL!

Punch needle

Punch needle embroidery, also known as punching, is an embroidery technique. With punching, you create beautiful works of art on fabric by inserting a punch needle into the fabric, pulling the needle back out, and using a repetitive motion to draw a design on the fabric. For more information about punching, read this blog.

The craft technique of using a punch needle has been around for some time, but it hasn’t (yet) achieved the same popularity as the centuries-old techniques of crocheting and knitting. We’re going to change that with this Punch Along, because one thing is for sure: using a punch needle is guaranteed to be fun and relaxing. :)

Punch Along with a punch needle

In the PAL, we’ll guide you step by step to help you complete your first punch project. The punch-along consists of 6 parts, in which you’ll use a punch needle to punch a section of the pattern step by step. Each part features a new section of the pattern and a separate video, in which we’ll show you how to use a punch needle to punch that specific part of the pattern. This way, by the end of the PAL, you’ll have punched a beautiful, colorful mandala that will look fantastic decorating a bare wall.

Mandala

In Tibetan art and Tibetan Buddhism, a mandala is a diagram or geometric pattern that symbolically represents the cosmos. This cosmos is often depicted in the most extraordinary geometric patterns. Creating and coloring a mandala can be not only fun but also very relaxing. And that’s exactly what we set out to do with our own design. :)
