Coffee & Wool - Episode 6

With Episode 6 of *Coffee and Wool*, we’re already halfway through the season. Time sure flies! Luckily, we still have many great episodes to come, and this is one of them. Saskia is going to crochet and upcycle, Lisanne from *Draad en Praat* is coming to visit, and of course there’s much more... Will you be watching?

In this blog, you'll find everything about Episode 6, including:

  • Crochet Pattern for the Pimped-Out Dish Towel
  • Crochet Pattern for Lily of the Valley
  • Knitting and Crochet Pattern for the Stitch Blanket

Wire and Talk
In this episode, Lisanne from "Draad en Praat" is our guest. She tells us all about her major projects, her new addition, and her upcoming book. We’re really curious about her book *Haak je Happy - De Kinderkamer*. Are you too? Keep an eye on her website to stay up to date on the latest news!

Micro hooks
In this episode, Lotte meets Babette, an expert in micro crocheting. She creates tiny crocheted pieces using a 0.4 Crochet Hook and Sewing Thread. From a blooming bonsai tree to teddy bears and penguins: we’re really impressed by her work—it’s practically art!

Decorate a Dish Towel
Saskia doesn't have a wild crochet project in this episode, but she does have something just as fun! This dish towel is already really cute, and now she's adding such an adorable border to it. That makes drying dishes a lot of fun!

Tools & Supplies:
- Katia Capri colors 105, 149, and 153
- Durable embroidery cotton 1027, 1031, 1015, 1002, 1009, 1004, 1010, 1029, 1008, 1006, 1028, 1003
- 3 and 2 mm Crochet Hooks
- sharp, thick needle

In this project, the turning and starting chains do not count as stitches; they are only there to create height.

Crochet Pattern for a dish towel border:

Sew a basting stitch along the side where the border will go. Start stitching right at the edge, and continue stitching from back to front, spacing the stitches one centimeter apart. To be sure, mark the centimeters with a pencil. In this case, 47 loops were sewn. Make sure you have an even number.

Row 1: Join with Light Green to the first loop. 1 chain stitch, 1 single crochet, *3 chain stitches, 1 single crochet in the next loop. Repeat from * and fasten off. 46 arches
Row 2: Join with Light Blue in the first arch. 1 chain stitch, *(1 single crochet, 2 double crochets, 2 chain stitches, 2 double crochets, 1 single crochet), 1 single crochet in the next arch, 1 single crochet in the next arch, repeat from *. Fasten off.
Row 3: *Join Durable embroidery floss in the space of 2 chain stitches. 1 chain stitch, crochet over the yarn: (1 single crochet, 3 double crochets, 1 single crochet, 3 double crochets, 1 single crochet, 3 double crochets, 1 single crochet). Fasten off. Make a flat button and weave in the ends between the stitches. Repeat from *.

Finish:
Steam the hem and include the tea towel as well—that way, the hem will look even better.

Annemarie's Spring Bouquet
With "Annemarie's Spring Bouquet," Annemarie Arts is crocheting a lovely bunch of flowers this season. After last week's hyacinth, it's now the lily of the valley's turn. The adorable white bells feature a green base and a soft yellow center.

Material:
- Lana Grossa Cotona 28, 16, 46
- A bit of soft yellow
- 2 mm Crochet Hook
- Prym Stitch Markers
- fiberfill stuffing
- A piece of electrical wire about 36 cm long.

Crochet Blanket
This week, Petra and Saskia made the sixth patch for the stitch quilt. Petra found a beautiful stitch using the coarse openwork stitch that resembles Saskia’s crocheted Judith stitch.

Material:
The blanket is made with DROPS Muskat cotton yarn. The colors of the squares are DROPS Muskat colors 40, 05, 29, 10, 19, 03, 20, 24, 09, 53, 60, and 02. The squares are joined together using a different color.

Two 20 x 10 cm squares are made from each stitch.
