New: Must-have Color Packs Inspired by Vacation Destinations!

Are you guys looking forward to summer vacation as much as I am? Just doing absolutely nothing for a while and relaxing with a knitting—or crocheting—project, of course! Whether it’s in the garden, at the beach, or in a beautiful city, it doesn’t matter—you can enjoy your favorite hobby anywhere. To really get you in the vacation spirit, we’ve put together Yarn and Colors Must-have Color Packs inspired by favorite vacation destinations!

Italy

Italy has long been one of the most popular vacation destinations. The country offers great food and beautiful weather. It’s no wonder that many Dutch people spend their vacations at Lake Garda. But Italy also has plenty to offer culture lovers, such as in Rome or Florence. The colors in this kit are inspired by the earthy tones found in the narrow streets of Tuscany and the beautiful pastel shades of ancient frescoes.

Spain

“I love dancing and music. E viva Espagna!” Imca Marina sang it, and she’s right. Spain is the land of temperament and passion. And, of course, delicious Dark Red sangria and colorful paella. There’s little more beautiful than watching the deep orange sun sink behind the mountains in Andalusia. This has inspired a color palette full of warm hues. These colors make us want to spontaneously break into a flamenco dance!

Greece

Greece also has a lot to offer. Ancient temples, white beaches, crystal-clear blue water, and rocky cliffs for adventurous tourists. Blue and white are not only the colors of the Greek flag, but also of many Greek houses, such as those along the coast of Mykonos. These two main colors are complemented by bright pink flowers and colorful patio furniture. All these bright, fresh colors can be found in our Greek Yarn and Colors Must-have color pack.

Belgium

We Dutch don’t always have to go far to have a good time. That’s not surprising, given our indulgent southern neighbors. The land of golden-yellow abbey beers (don’t you dare call it “pils”!), but also golden-yellow fries. More of a sweet tooth? That’s an option, too. Doesn’t your mouth water just thinking about those delicious Belgian chocolates and waffles? These Burgundian colors are abundantly represented in this flavorful color pack.

Germany

If we cross the border into our eastern neighbor’s country, we’ll find plenty of treats there, too. But to make the color palettes as varied as possible, we drew inspiration from architecture. Berlin is a beautiful mix of old buildings and modern architectural masterpieces. You’ll find plenty of Bauhaus-style architecture in shades of gray. But of course, Germany also has plenty of nature, such as the Black Forest. That’s why this kit includes a generous splash of green alongside the shades of gray.

France

Of course, France can’t be left off this list. It’s wonderful to drive there in a camper to relax at a campground and explore small villages. Or maybe you’d rather go to Paris or Nice? For this kit, we’ve stuck with the French countryside. How beautiful are those purple lavender fields, with a farmhouse in the middle painted in light yet warm tones? This Yarn and Colors Must-have kit features a perfect mix of purple hues and soft, rustic colors.

The Netherlands

Maybe you’ll just stay right here in the Netherlands this year. A nice spot in the woods or on the beach—but there’s nothing wrong with “Balconia” or “Gardenia,” right? In the Netherlands, you can easily be a tourist in your own country because it has so much to offer! “When I think of Holland, I see wide rivers flowing slowly through endless lowlands.” And that was the inspiration for this color palette. How beautiful is the morning sun in all its colors in the sky, shining over the meadows? Colors that are reflected in our endless rivers and ditches. That’s why this palette features the hues of the morning sun and the shades of the water—which we Dutch have both loved and hated for years.
