Spring Home Decor: Tips for a Small Budget
Does that spring fever make you want to spruce up your home, but you don’t have the money to completely redecorate? That’s no problem at all. In this blog, we’ll share tips on how to freshen up your home for spring—no matter your budget!
Come Clean
Nothing says, “I’m ready for spring,” better than a fresh pop of color in your home. And color is totally trendy, too! From bold hues to fresh pastel shades, anything goes. Sand down an old coffee table and give it a new coat of paint. The same goes for cabinet doors—or maybe even your entire kitchen. Do you find such a big change a little too daunting? That’s understandable. In that case, keep it small by, for example, just painting the baseboards or door frames. That alone will give your interior a fresh new look.
Upcycling
Following up on the previous tip, you can visit a thrift store. There, you’ll find some really nice items for relatively little money. If you see a piece of furniture with an interesting shape but not quite your color, why not give it a fresh coat of paint yourself? This isn’t just easy on your wallet—it’s also better for the environment.
On the floor
A new rug can completely transform the look of your home. Rugs come in all shapes and sizes—and, yes, in a variety of price ranges, too. A large rug can easily cost a few hundred euros. The cheapest option? Crochet your own rug. Here are a few spring patterns you can use to get started.

Get rid of the winter gear
Most Yarnplaza customers have their homes filled with handmade cushions and blankets, and we’re absolutely thrilled about that! But heavy, dark fabrics aren’t necessarily spring-ready. So swap them out for blankets and cushions in light colors and lighter, airier fabrics. You don’t have to put the thick blankets away just yet. You can take them outside. That way, you can head outside as soon as the first rays of sunshine appear, without getting cold.

Say it with flowers!
Perhaps the best thing about spring is that all the flowers start blooming beautifully again. A bouquet of flowers is a quick way to add color to your home. The only downside is that they don’t last the whole season. Fortunately, you can get creative and make your own flower wreath or crochet your own bouquet. You can find more Tips in this blog.

Small change, big impact
As mentioned, even small changes in color can make a big difference in your interior. Other small changes you can make include, for example, changing the frames on your photos. Or how about putting different doorknobs on your cabinets?
Free tip!
This tip might be so obvious that you wouldn’t think of it yourself. It’s completely free. Try rearranging your furniture! Repositioning everything will make your living room look completely different. And while you’re moving everything around anyway, you can vacuum under that one cabinet as part of your spring cleaning. That way, freshening up your home becomes a real workout, too!
