And now that everyone is in the mood for more mosaic crochet after the Letitia's Garden Blanket, designer Rosina Plane has decided to release this Christmas blanket in new colors. For this, she has opted for a colorway in Stylecraft Highland Heathers DK, a yarn with rich purple, green, and blue tones inspired by the rugged landscape of the Scottish Highlands. Of course, you can also choose the 'old' colorways of Stylecraft Special DK.
The theme of the Holiday Blanket is clear: CHRISTMAS! Use inset and overlay crochet mosaic techniques to create a blanket featuring pine trees, baubles, presents, Christmas bells, candles, and gingerbread men. The fewer ends to weave in the better, and with this design, all the ends are simply hidden in an envelope border. For the Holiday Blanket, Rosina uses the same pattern repeat as for her Letitia’s Garden Blanket. This means you can mix and match motifs from both to create something unique if you wish. The pattern includes clear written instructions and crochet charts. There are also supporting video tutorials available.
