An important message from Koen: an update on the future of the Yarnplaza Inspiration Center
Hello, everyone! I’m Koen, and I’ve been the director of Yarnplaza.com since January of this year. I’m very proud to have taken over from my mother, Petra, who has been the face of Yarnplaza for many years and, together with a wonderful team, has built something truly special.
Today, I'd like to share something important with you.
Yarnplaza Inspiration Center: From Store to Showroom
Until recently, our brick-and-mortar store, the Yarnplaza Inspiration Center in Zaltbommel, was all about inspiration, connecting with others, and, of course, shopping for the most beautiful yarns. From Wednesday through Saturday, we had the pleasure of welcoming many of you—a time we always look back on with great fondness.
However, after we moved our warehouse, that changed. The store became a showroom: a place to browse, but no longer to buy on the spot. You could see and touch the products, but ordering had to be done online. That turned out to be a disappointment for many visitors. Your feedback was clear: “We miss the old store experience.”
In response to those comments, we got to work. We explored all options to get back closer to the original store concept. But that turned out to be more complicated than we’d hoped. Our retail space is too small to display and keep in stock a large portion of our product range—over 15,000 items. A smaller product range would result in a decrease in choice, and that doesn’t align with what Yarnplaza stands for. After much discussion and careful consideration, we had to make a difficult but honest decision:
As of December 1, 2025, our brick-and-mortar store, the Yarnplaza Inspiration Center in Zaltbommel, will be closed.
This is a big change—for me, for Petra, for our entire team, and of course for you, our loyal visitors. We understand that this news may stir up emotions, because Yarnplaza is more than just a store; it’s a creative space where people come together.

Fortunately, nothing is changing online. At Yarnplaza.com, you can still find everything you need for knitting, crocheting, and crafts 24/7. We’ll continue to expand and improve our product selection, Inspiration, and service—with you, our customer, at the center of everything we do. We look to the future with confidence and hope to continue inspiring you for many years to come.

After we moved our warehouse, it was no longer possible to carry our entire product line in the store. Because we want to provide you with the best shopping experience—with a full selection of all our products—we’ve decided to close the store and focus entirely on our online store.
