Coffee & Wool S01 - Episode 9

In episode 9 of Coffee and Wool, Saskia makes a (pin) cushion, Lotte takes a look inside the home of Haakster Annemarie Arts, and Petra once again knits like a champ, creating both a bag and a bracelet. It’s packed with content again, so will you be watching?

In this blog, you'll find everything about Episode 9, including:

- The crochet pattern for the Aviso pouf
- The knitting pattern for the Cotone shopper
- The knitting pattern for the bracelet
- The "Just-Like-Tea" Crochet Pattern, designed by Haakidee
- Rows 15 and 16 of the Coffee and Wool Stitch Scarf

Crocheted Puffy Aviso Cushion
Saskia is crocheting a lovely, round, fluffy cushion using Phildar Aviso. This soft yarn is a joy to work with, and the ribbed pattern really makes it stand out! By alternately stitching your hook into the front and back loops, your crochet work takes on a nice ribbed texture. It’s perfect for this cushion, but also for a bag or a summer rug!

Aviso cushion material:
- 6 balls of Phildar Aviso, color 131
- 1 ball of Phildar Paillettes, color 3
- Crochet Hooks, size 5

Are you itching to start crocheting right away, too? You can, of course, download the Cushion pattern for free here, or order the complete Crochet Kit with all the yarn and the pattern. Tip: If you make the Cushion smaller, you’ll end up with an adorable Pin Cushion!

Knitted Cotone Shopper
Petra is knitting a trendy tote bag, perfect for grocery shopping or taking to the beach. The color combinations give the bag a fresh look, and you can choose them yourself, so style it to suit your own taste!

Material:
- 2 balls of Lana Grossa 365 Cotone in colors 6, 7, and 8.
- 40 cm 8 mm Knitting Needles.

Does this make you want to knit, too? The pattern for this trendy knitted tote bag is, of course, available for free download.

Knitted Flower Bracelet
Petra is trying her hand at making a flower bracelet this week, and we’re really happy about it! Now even the knitters among us can make a cute little bracelet. Use a cheerful Cotton yarn or a silky-soft Lace yarn, follow the pattern, and your bracelet is ready!

Tip: Don't cast off; just keep knitting. This will give your project a nice edge.

Patterned Knitted Bracelet

Cast on a multiple of 6 + 1 stitches. (At Koffie & Wool, Petra casts on 54 + 1)
Row 1: K1, **K1 into the next stitch and yarn over 3 times; repeat 4 times until a total of 5 stitches have been knitted this way with three yarn overs, then K1** (clusters of 5 stitches with a purl stitch in between).
Repeat until all stitches have been knitted.
2nd row: Purl 1, bring the yarn to the back, work the 5 stitches from the previous row with 3 yarn overs; purl the first loop and drop the other 2 loops. **These 5 stitches are wrapped 2 times with the yarn.
First, bring the yarn to the back, transfer the stitches to the right needle (do not knit, just move them), bring the yarn to the front, and transfer the stitches to the left needle; repeat once more. 1 purl stitch** Repeat until all stitches have been worked.
3rd row: Knit.
4th row: Bind off all stitches knitwise.

Visiting...
This week, Lotte is visiting Annemarie Arts. She’ll give us a peek inside her home and show us the many little things she’s made for her books. Annemarie is known for her books—she’s written eight (!) of them so far. From baby toys to lucky dolls to fairy-tale characters, Annemarie comes up with it all! Especially for Coffee and Wool—and for all tea lovers—Annemarie designed the “Just-Like-Tea” set. It’s fun for little ones to play with or to have a fancy tea party with Mom. Download the free Crochet Pattern for the “Just-Like-Tea” set here.

Coffee & Wool Knitted Scarf
Every week, Saskia crochets a new section of the Coffee and Wool stitch scarf. This week, we’re already on rows 15 and 16! After last week’s “Lilies of the Valley,” we have two repeat rows again this week. The double crochets and arcs add a touch of calm to the scarf, really letting the other rounds shine! For round 15, Saskia uses color 2010 (Lana Grossa Merino Superfein), and round 16 is in color 477.
Row 15: Join with beige yarn. Chain 2 and work a double crochet in the first stitch. Chain 1, *work 4 double crochets in the chain space. Repeat from * 13 times. Chain 1 and work a double crochet in the last stitch. Fasten off.
Row 16: Join with light pink. Chain 1 and single crochet in the first stitch, single crochet in the next stitch. *Chain 4, skip 4 stitches, single crochet. Repeat from * 13 times. Single crochet in the last stitch. Fasten off.
