10 contestants are competing for the honorary title of “The Netherlands’ Haakster” and €500 in Yarnplaza store credit! You can follow this exciting crochet competition closely by watching the New episode every week. Over the course of 11 episodes, we’ll take you on a crochet adventure. That adventure consists of Coming up with designs, lots of crocheting, and writing patterns. After each challenge, there’s a winner and a loser—who, unfortunately, has to leave the competition. Each challenge also yields new and beautiful creations and patterns. We’ve now reached the finals, where the three top crocheters—Jolanda, Linda, and Danielle—are competing for first place! In this super exciting episode, the three remaining Haakster STARS compete for the honorary title of “The Haakster of the Netherlands” and €500 in Yarnplaza store credit! Jolanda, Linda, and Danielle show off their creativity one last time and do their very best to crochet an original and beautiful creation.
The finalists are challenged to crochet home decor items. They get to decide for themselves what kind of home decor they’ll crochet. Linda is crocheting with the beautiful Rico Fashion Light Luxury and Katia Maxi Merino yarns. Jolanda and Danielle are crocheting with Stylecraft Special DK. The contestants will present their projects at the Yarnplaza Inspiration Center and share the story behind their beautiful crochet creations. We’re keeping the jury’s decision a secret for now, because it’s not just the jury’s opinion that counts—yours does too! Vote for your favorite by December 14. The votes from the public and the jury will be tallied together. The winner of “The Haakster of the Netherlands” will be announced on Saturday, December 15, at our Inspiration Center! You’re welcome to attend. The announcement will, of course, be filmed and will air on December 21 in the very last episode of “The Haakster of the Netherlands.”
Jury | Judging: The Yarnplaza jury, along with two guest judges—Annemarie from Studio Hip en Stip and Claire from ByClaire—will judge the beautiful creations.

9 Haaksters are challenged to crochet mittens or a Hat.
The contestants can decide for themselves whether to crochet winter mittens or a hat.
The hat should be a women's size (56 to 58 cm), and the mittens should also be sized for an adult. They'll be using the beautiful Gradient Yarn Rico Creative Melange Chunky.

8 Haaksters are challenged to crochet something for a baby.
For this project, the contestants are given a lot of freedom and can decide for themselves exactly what they’ll crochet, as long as it’s for a baby. The required element is the rattle bead, and as extras, they’re given a teether and Stuffing. They’ll be crocheting with the fine Cotton yarn Yarn and Colors Must-have.
