Basic Ruffled Cushion - Free Crochet Pattern

This simple ruffled cushion is crocheted with Rico Creative Soft Wool Aran. This luxurious twisted yarn is super soft thanks to its composition of 25% wool and 75% polyacrylic. Available in 26 stylish colors.


Tools & Supplies:
- 4 skeins of Rico Creative Soft Wool Aran, color 16
- 6 mm Crochet Hook.
- An inner cushion or stuffing, 500 grams

Stitches used:
l = chain stitch
hv = slip stitch
v = single crochets
st = double crochet
lobster stitch (a single crochet worked from left to right)

Free Crochet Pattern for a Basic Cushion with Ruffles

Front:
Chain 51 sts; try to crochet the chain with no chain stitches, or use a Crochet Hook that is half a size larger.
Row 1: Start in the 2nd ch from the Crochet Hook and crochet 50 sts.
2nd round: 50 sts in the front loops
3rd round: 50 sts in the back loops
Rows 4 through 18: Repeat rows 2 and 3 alternately

Crochet a border using single crochet all around, making sure both short sides have the same number of stitches. Fasten off.

Back:
Chain 51 sts; try to crochet the chain in a chain stitch, or use a Crochet Hook that is half a size larger.
Row 1: Start in the 2nd ch from the Crochet Hook and crochet 50 sts.
Rows 2 through 19: 50 sts. Crochet a border of single crochets all around, making sure both short sides have the same number of stitches, and crochet 3 single crochets at each corner. Fasten off.

Ruffles
: Take the front of the cushion and crochet into the loops on the front. Attach a strand of yarn to the 2nd row of loops and crochet *5 ch., then 1 sl st in the next loop.* Repeat from * to *
Skip 1 row of loops and repeat *-* in the next row. You'll end up with 9 rows of ruffles.

Stuff the cushion (or insert the inner cushion) and sew the front and back together using the lobster stitch.
