Every fall, Oktoberfest takes place in Germany. During this huge event, many liters of beer are served. With this beer mug, you’ll fit right in! The mug also makes a great gift for a beer lover, especially if you include a little something extra inside, like a bag of candy or a Gift Card. What will you use the beer mug for?

The beer mug has a cute and cheerful little face. The generous foam rims are crocheted with soft Rico Baby Teddy Aran. The mug is crocheted with sturdy and rugged Yarn and Colors Super Charming.

Materials used:
1 ball of Yarn and Colors Must-have Minis in the color: black (100)
1 ball of Yarn and Colors Super Charming in the color Mustard (15)
1 ball of Yarn and Colors Epic in the color Silver (94)
1 ball of Rico Baby Teddy Aran in the color White (1)
1 pair of black safety eyes, 8 mm
3.5 mm Crochet Hook
Darning needle with a sharp point

Optional: Give your beer a touch of color with a little blush.
Dimensions: The beer mug is about 10 cm tall.
Preparation: Cut a circle with a diameter of 7 cm out of cardboard.

Variation tip: If you’d still like to crochet the beer mug as a cuddly toy, you’ll find the adjustments needed to close it up at the bottom of the pattern. You’ll also need pillow stuffing to fill it.

Crochet a Beer Mug - Free Crochet Pattern

The beer mug is crocheted using the Amigurumi technique. You’ll crochet in a spiral. Crochet as tightly as possible so that no openings or holes are visible. If necessary, adjust your Crochet Hook to suit your crocheting style. The pattern begins at the bottom of the beer mug.

Round 1: Crochet with a 3.5 mm Crochet Hook and Silver yarn. Make a magic ring of 6 sc, or do it this way: Chain 2. Work 6 sc in the first chain. Sl st in the first sc to form a loop (6).
Round 2: Crochet 2 dc in each dc (12).
Round 3: Crochet 2 dc in every 2the v (18).
Round 4: Crochet 1 single crochet. * Crochet 2 single crochets in the next single crochet, then 2 single crochets. * Repeat from * to * until the end of the row, but end with 1 single crochet (24).
Round 5: Crochet 2 sc in every 4the v (30).
Round 6: Crochet 2. * Crochet 2 single crochets in the next single crochet, then crochet 4 single crochets. * Repeat from * to * until the end of the row, but end with 2 single crochets (36).
Round 7: Crochet 2 dc in every 6th stitchthe v (42).
Round 8: Crochet 1. Now crochet this round into the back loops of your single crochet stitches, so that a few loops form on the outside of your work. Crochet 42 single crochets, working the last stitch into the first chain (42).
Rounds 9 through 22: Change the color and yarn to Super Charming Mustard.
Crochet 42 single crochets in each row (42).

Before you continue crocheting, insert a safety eye between rows 17 and 18.
Under the eyes, embroider a small mouth on row 15 and small eyebrows on row 20, as you see fit.

Rounds 23 through 30:
Change to the Ricy Baby White yarn. Crochet with two strands of yarn.
Crochet 42 single crochets in each row (42). Fasten off. Leave a long tail.

Now fold the fluffy edge inward and single crochet it to the inside of your pul on row 23.

Using the "Handvat
Haak" pattern with Epic Silver yarn and a 3.5 mm Crochet Hook, chain 19 stitches.
Now crochet 3 sc into the chain. In the next chain, crochet 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc. Now crochet 10 sc. In the next chain, crochet 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc. Crochet 3 more sc. Fasten off. Neatly weave in the ends. Crochet another piece just like this one.

Now place the two separate pieces on top of each other and crochet them together with slip stitches on both the outside and the inside. Make sure the slip stitches are all on one side. Now sew the handle to the right side of the beer mug with small single crochets, attaching it below the foam and along the bottom.

Foam
Droolers: Double-strand Rico Baby Teddy yarn and a 3.5 mm Crochet Hook.

Long foam chain: Crochet 8 times. Now crochet 7 half double crochets back along the chain. Fasten off.
Short foam stitch: Crochet a chain of 4. Now crochet 3 half double crochets back along the chain. Fasten off.
Using small stitches, single crochet the tassels on the left side, starting from the foam, as you see fit.

Variation tip: You can also turn this beer mug into a cuddly toy. To do this, fill the mug with stuffing and close the top. See the pattern below. Crochet the beer mug from rows 1 through 26 following the pattern above.

Round 27: Make 6 decreases. Crochet every 6the and 7the v together (36).
Round 28: Make 6 decreases. Crochet 2. *Crochet the next 2 together, crochet 4*. Repeat from *to*, until the end of the row, but end with 2 (30).
Round 29: Make 6 decreases. Crochet every 4the and 5the v together (24).
Round 30: Make 6 decreases. Crochet every 3the and 4the v together (18).
Before you continue crocheting, stuff your beer mug firmly with stuffing.
Round 31: Make 6 decreases. Crochet every 2the and 3the v together (12).
Round 32: Make 6 decreases. Crochet the stitches together 2 at a time (6). Fasten off. Pull the ending thread through the last 6v to close the last hole completely. Weave in the ending thread.
