Crochet a flower rug that’ll brighten your day! This serene rug with a playful touch is made entirely of flowers. Join them together, and your room, kitchen, or bathroom will be transformed! Read on to find out exactly how to do it.
The name “flower rug” says it all: a rug made entirely of flowers! You decide how big the rug will be. The more flowers you crochet, the bigger the rug will be. We’re using the sturdy Katia Big Ribbon ribbon yarn, which yields 8 flowers from a single ball. And while it’s square now, if you sew the individual flowers together in a different way, you can easily create a round or diamond-shaped rug. So style it to your own taste!
Dimensions: 80 x 50 cm
What do you need?
Material:
- 4 balls of Katia Big Ribbon, color 12
- 1 ball of Phildar Phil Coton 3, color 48
—Wool Needle
- size 15 Crochet Hook
Dress pattern:
12 single crochets in a magic ring. Close the ring with a slip stitch.
*Chain 3, wrap the yarn around your Crochet Hook, insert the Hook into the same stitch where you started your 3 chain stitches, and pull up a loop that is as long as 2 chain stitches; repeat this once more in the same stitch. Repeat this 2 more times, but in the next stitch (the 2nd single crochet from the magic ring). You now have a total of 9 loops on your Crochet Hook; wrap the yarn around the Crochet Hook one more time and pull it through all 9 loops. Chain 3 and work 1 single crochet in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * 5 more times, but now start each petal with 2 chain stitches.
Make 32 flowers.
Once you've finished all of these, sew the flowers together using Phil Coton 3 yarn (see diagram); start with Red.
