Crochet Farm Animals - CAL - Crochet & Collect Them All

Crocheting Farm Animals - When you think of a farm, you think of these cute animals. In 2018, we held a fun CAL (crochet-along) where we shared free Crochet Patterns for 5 unique farm animals. The CAL has ended, but we’ve compiled the patterns and videos for you in this blog post. That way, you can get started right away. Crochet and collect them all!

Earlier, we kicked off the CAL featuring 5 unique birds. The “Collect & Crochet Them All” series turned out to be a huge success, and many customers have crocheted these adorable little birds. So it was time for a new CAL: farm animals. Annemarie Arts designed these incredibly cute Amigurumi, and every detail has been carefully thought out. These animals are a joy to look at and recognizable even to the youngest children. The farm animals make great gifts, and thanks to the handy carabiner hook, you can also attach them to your keychain or bag.

Abbreviations

used l = chain
stitch = slip stitch
v = single crochets
hst = half double crochet
st = double crochet
dst = double crochet

Tips
The idea is to crochet the farm animal so tightly that no stuffing is visible. Annemarie likes to crochet with a 2mm Crochet Hook. Using a small Crochet Hook naturally results in very tight stitches. Adjust the Crochet Hook size as needed to suit your crocheting style.
TIP: For extra help, check out the videos in which Annemarie explains how to crochet the animals.

Basic Pattern: Farm Animals

The heads and bodies of the farm animals are all crocheted using the same basic pattern. The rest (such as the nose, arms, etc.) varies by animal, and the pattern is adjusted accordingly each time.

Basic color patterns for all 5:
Pattern 1 (Valerie the Pig): Pastel Pink
Pattern 2 (Chicken Klaartje): Ecru
Pattern 3 (Polly the Horse): Teak
Pattern 4 (Kiana the Cow): Soft Grey
Pattern 5 (still unknown): White

All farm animals have a blush on their cheeks. You can easily achieve this with blush.
