Crocheting a Colorful Turtleneck Scarf - You may have already seen it in her vlogs: Saskia has crocheted a turtleneck scarf! It’s a cute design in a deep blue color and, of course, features that signature border. Read on for the free pattern, because she’s put her own “twist” on it.
Saskia has started working on a lovely cowl scarf. Of course, Saskia wouldn’t be Saskia if she didn’t turn this into an original design, with her signature touch. The scarf is crocheted, but the unique stitch gives it a knitted look. The soft Lala Berlin Softness yarn has an airy texture and is nice and light. And with the Lana Grossa Peppina trim, it becomes a truly colorful cowl scarf.

Tools & Supplies:
- 3 balls of Lana Grossa Lala Berlin Softness, color 20
- 1 ball of Lana Grossa Peppina, color 11
- 10 and 12 mm Crochet Hooks
Special stitches used:
- Crochet knit stitch: crochet half double crochets through the back loop of the stitch below the “V.”
- Extended double crochet: wrap the yarn around your hook, insert your hook into the next stitch, pick up the yarn, and pull it through 2 loops; then pull the yarn through 1 loop, and finally pull it through 2 loops.
Crochet Pattern for a Neck Warmer:
Using Lala Berlin Softness yarn and a 12 mm crochet hook, crochet 70 chain stitches. Join the chain into a loop with a slip stitch in the first chain stitch, making sure there is a single twist. Using a 10 mm Crochet Hook, work a half double crochet in each chain stitch, and close the round with a half double crochet in the first stitch; this way, you continue crocheting in the spiral without having to start a new round.
In the second and subsequent rows, always crochet into the loop below the “little V”; this makes the “little V” pop forward, giving you a knitted look. (Crocheted knit stitch)
Crochet the 3 Balls in this way and finish with a slip stitch.
Rand:
Using a 10mm Crochet Hook, crochet a border along the top and bottom edges of the scarf using Lana Grossa Peppina.
1 chain stitch and *1 single crochet in the first stitch. In the next stitch, work 3 extended double crochets. In the next stitch: repeat from *.
Tip: Crochet this turtleneck in a neutral color without a border, and you'll have a lovely gift for your husband or boyfriend!
