With this ByClaire Doily stool cover, you can spruce up any little table or stool! The cover is crocheted in a trendy hexagon shape and features gorgeous colors! ByClaire drew inspiration from the colors of summer flowers to create this cheerful color palette. It’s truly a beautiful summer explosion of color—and totally in the signature ByClaire style.
The ByClaire Doily stool cover has a lovely, voluminous look because it’s crocheted using the “puff” stitch. Plus, the texture of this stitch is especially beautiful thanks to the use of the fine ByClaire Cotton yarn. ByClaire Cotton is a soft, mercerized 100% cotton yarn. Want to get started with other colors? No problem—ByClaire Cotton comes in no fewer than 56 colors! Of course, you can also use this Home Accessory in other ways—for example, as a tablecloth on your dining table, or create a rug by crocheting several hexagons and joining them together.

Hexagon
The cover will eventually take the shape of a hexagon—a large hexagon that, if your crochet work is the right size, will fit snugly around the stool.
Pattern
: Crochet a chain of 4 chain stitches and join them into a ring with a slip stitch (or make a magic ring)
Row 1: Crochet 6 puff stitches into the ring. Close the row with a slip stitch.
Row 2: Crochet into the next space, between 2 puff stitches: 1 puff stitch, 1 chain stitch, 1 puff stitch. Crochet into each subsequent space: 1 puff stitch, 1 chain stitch, 1 puff stitch.
12 puff stitches total. Fasten off with a slip stitch.
Row 3: * Crochet into the next stitch, around the chain stitch, and between 2 puff stitches: 1 puff stitch, 2 chain stitches, 1 puff stitch. Crochet 1 puff stitch into the next space.
Repeat from * 5 times. Single crochet off with a slip stitch.
Row 4: This is where the hexagon begins to take shape in your crochet work. The corners of your crochet work are the spots where you crochet the 2 chain stitches.
*In the next space, around every 2 chain stitches: 1 puff stitch, 2 chain stitches, 1 puff stitch. Crochet a puff stitch in each subsequent space until you reach the next 2 chain stitches, the corner. Repeat from * around the round. Fasten off with a slip stitch.
Rows 5–19: Repeat Row 4.
If this size is too small for your stool or small table, make it larger. Keep going until you can fold the hexagon comfortably around the seat.
Finishing
Weave in the chain stitches.
Thread a string through the last row.
Place the crocheted piece on the seat of the stool; it should drape over the sides.
Pull the string tight and single crochet it at the bottom.
