The Window with Tulips
You can get 2 flowers with a tulip border from 1 ball.
Start with a base square and, continuing from Round 14, crochet: 2 chain stitches (= 1 single crochet), 3 chain stitches, a single crochet at the starting point of Round 14. 3 chain stitches and a single crochet between Rounds 13 and 14. Repeat this 13 more times. In the starting chain at the bottom of the diamond, crochet a single crochet, 3 chain stitches, and a single crochet. 3 chain stitches and a single crochet between rows 1 and 2; continue in the same way back to your starting point. On each row, there are now 3-chain arches on both sides. There is an extra arch at the top and bottom. A total of 30 arches. Close this round with a slip stitch in the 2nd chain stitch.
Crochet a tulip in each arch. Between the tulips, crochet 2 chain stitches:
Crochet a slip stitch into the first arch, 3 chain stitches (= 1 double crochet), 4 double crochets. Remove your hook from the loop, insert it from front to back into the stitch of the first double crochet (3e chain), pick up the loop from the fifth double crochet and pull it through the loop of the first double crochet, 2 chain stitches. In the next arch, *5 double crochets and make another tulip as described above, 2 chain stitches*; repeat from * to *. Finish with 1 slip stitch in the top of the 3 chain stitches. Fasten off.
Half-diamond
You can make 10 half-diamonds from 1 ¼ balls.
Start with 1 chain stitch, +3 chain stitches (= 1st double crochet).
Row 1: 1 double crochet in the first chain stitch, 1 chain stitch. (2 double crochets)
Row 2: 1 double crochet in the first stitch, 2 double crochets in the second stitch. 1 chain stitch. (3 double crochets)
Row 3: 2 double crochets in the first stitch, 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches. 1 chain stitch. (4 double crochets)
Row 4: 1 double crochet in the next 3 stitches. 2 double crochets in the last stitch. 1 chain stitch. (5 double crochets)
Row 5: 2 double crochets in the first stitch, 1 double crochet in each of the next 4 stitches. 1 chain stitch. (6 double crochets)
Row 6: 1 double crochet in the next 5 stitches. 2 double crochets in the last stitch. 1 chain stitch. (7 double crochets)
Row 7: 2 double crochets in the first stitch, then in each of the next 6 stitches. 1 chain stitch. (8 double crochets)
Row 8: 1 double crochet in the next 6 stitches. 1 slip stitch in the last 2 stitches. 1 chain stitch. (7 double crochets)
Row 9: 1 joined double crochet in the first 2 stitches, 1 double crochet in the next 5 stitches. 1 chain stitch. (6 double crochets)
Row 10: 1 double crochet in the next 4 stitches. 1 slip stitch in the last 2 stitches. 1 chain stitch. (5 double crochets)

Row 13: 1 joined double crochet in the first 2 stitches, 1 double crochet in the last stitch. 1 chain stitch (2 double crochets)
Row 14: Crochet the remaining 2 stitches together. 1 chain stitch to finish.
Crochet 36 squares with a tulip border, 25 basic squares, and 10 half squares.

Join the diamonds together using a zigzag stitch. The zigzag stitch consists of 3 chain stitches followed by 1 single crochet in the diamond between two rows. Join in the 2-chain stitch opening between two tulips (see the diagram above). First, crochet the first two rows of diamond patterns together (see color 1 in the diagram). After the first row, you will have 6 diamond patterns with tulips and 5 basic diamond patterns joined together. Continue crocheting additional rows in this manner, working from top to bottom.
For the single crochet, work into the opening of 2 chain stitches on the tulip diamond, and into the space between 2 rows on the base diamond. Note: Skip the 3-chain openings on the tulip diamond; instead, work 1 single crochet into the tulip at the tips.
If there are a total of 6 tulip squares and 5 base squares arranged side by side, crochet the half squares onto both sides in the same way as described above.
