Crocheting a Turtleneck - Want to stay warm and stylish this season? Get started on this turtleneck, inspired by the textured scarf from the book *Puur Haken*. The turtleneck is made with Katia Merino Aran yarn.
The cowl features a beautiful textured stitch that gives it a Chunky look and feel and creates a crocheted cable pattern. It’s handy to throw on quickly, and when you head outside, you’ll instantly be part of the fashion scene. The scarf was made using Maaike’s pattern from the book *Puur Haken*, with a modification to the edge. The ends were also joined together to create a large cowl.

Crochet Hooks - Patterns from "Puur haken"
Crochet following the pattern in the book using color 9.
The pattern starts with the second half of a shape. This is followed by 8 shapes with a dot in the center. You end with a half-shape with a dot in the center. Sew or crochet the two halves together. Now you have a turtleneck.
Here's how to make the border:
Using color 3, crochet the edge:
Join in any spot. Chain 3 (equal to the first single crochet and 2 chain stitches), then work a single crochet in the next round. Each round consists of double crochets, and it can sometimes be difficult to tell where the round begins. In any case, make sure you always crochet in the same space; this will keep your work nice and even.
