The Yarnplaza Summer Package includes 6 different craft projects that you can easily take with you on vacation. This year, you’ll be crocheting, using a punch needle, and embroidering projects that all revolve around the theme “Fresh and Fruity.”
What are you going to make:
Lemon Vase
A real eye-catcher for your kitchen or coffee table! This lemon vase immediately stands out thanks to its cheerful design and bright yellow color. Attaching the crocheted lemons to the vase creates a beautiful 3D effect. Any plant will look great in this cheerful vase.
Embroidery Citrus Fruits
Of course, a handy bag to carry all your projects in is a must-have. The kit includes a large jute bag that you can use to take all your projects with you on vacation, but you can also give it a citrus twist of your own! You’ll embroider four different colors of citrus fruit on this bag. Add the pink Yarnplaza label, and your bag will be perfectly on theme.
Watermelon Coasters
What could be more refreshing than watermelons in the summer? This set of watermelon coasters looks good enough to eat (but don’t actually do that!) and is always handy to have around the house. With this pattern, you’ll crochet 6 coasters and a little holder to store them in. 
Bag Hanger
This cheerful bag charm combines crochet with embroidery, and the end result is a beautiful charm for your bag or keys. First, you crochet a heart, which you then decorate with an embroidered French knot.
Text Punch Needle
A delightful activity with a fun result! In this project, you’ll learn how to use a punch needle to punch a word (and embroider the decorations around it). Are you new to using a punch needle and not quite sure where to start? Then check out our tutorial page on using a punch needle. There, you’ll find clear video instructions so you can get started right away.
Festival Bag
Granny squares are sooo trendy and are used a lot these days in festival tops and bikini tops. We’ve used them to make a cheerful festival bag, so you can easily carry your essentials in a small bag! The bag consists of 4 large Granny Squares that are crocheted together using the “join as you go” method.
What do you need for this kit?
To get started on all the projects in the summer kit, you'll need the following:
- 2.5 mm Crochet Hook
- Embroidery Needle with a sharp point
- Punch Needles
- Small scissors
- Cylindrical glass jar with a diameter of 11.5 x 12 cm (available at Action)

A fresh and fruity theme calls for some fresh and fruity fun facts. For example, did you know that most citrus fruits are actually large berries? Berries with a hard, leathery skin!
Here’s another fun fact: lemons are good for your appearance. They have many benefits for all sorts of things. For example, they can help clear up acne and blackheads, whiten your teeth, strengthen your nails, and even heal dry, chapped lips! Other citrus fruits in general also have many health benefits; they’re high in antioxidants, which is why it’s believed that citrus fruits slow down the aging process.
