Animal Teether - A little girl or boy can play endlessly with this teether. It’s a great gift for your little one or as a baby shower gift. The teether features various shapes and textures and makes little noises (thanks to the small rings that rattle), which encourages your little one to chew, grasp, and explore. The wooden teether figures and beads meet European safety standards, so your little one can chew on them worry-free. In the Yarnplaza.com collection, we have a variety of teethers and beads that make baby toys and Amigurumi both complete and functional.

Free Pattern for an Animal Teether with Crocheted Beads
Crocheted Bead
For each wooden teething toy, 3 beads with a diameter of 15 mm are crocheted as follows.
Round 1: Make a magic ring with 6 sc, or do it this way: Crochet 2 chains. Crochet 6 sc in the first chain. Crochet 1 sl st in the first sc to form a loop (6).
Round 2: Crochet 2 dc in each dc (12).
Rounds 3 through 6: Crochet 12 single crochets in each row (12). Insert the bead, making sure the hole in the bead is positioned on row 1.
Round 7: Make 6 decreases. Crochet the stitches together 2 at a time (6). Fasten off. Pull the end thread through the last 6v to close the last hole a little more. Don't pull it too tight so that the cord can still fit through.
Finishing
: String 7 18-mm beads and 3 15-mm crocheted beads onto the cord. Thread the beads through 2 wooden rings and the wooden teether, then secure them tightly with a double button. Apply fabric glue between the first and second buttons to prevent the button from coming undone. Trim the ends and apply fabric glue to the button. Pull the button into the center of a wooden bead and let it dry thoroughly.
