Crochet a bike bell!

The Netherlands is known for its many bicycles. If your bike doesn’t stand out a little, you’ll never find it again in the bike rack! Flowers on your handlebars or little balls on the spokes are fun, but have you ever thought about a unique crocheted bike bell?

This super cute bike bell cover was designed by Facebook user Marian de Pineda-Hardeman! Turn your bike bell into an adorable little pig, a cool frog, or a delicious little cake. And crocheting a bike bell cover isn’t hard at all. Marian was kind enough to share the pattern with us.

You don't need much to make these fun bike bells, and it doesn't take much time.
The perfect last-minute gift!

Pig's nose.
Round 1: 6 single crochets in a magic ring
2nd row: 2 single crochets in each single crochet = 12 sts.
3rd row: crochet only into the back loop of each st. = 12 sts
Row 4: Single crochet off the 12 chain stitches; using Black yarn, make 2 chain stitches—these are the nostrils.

Ears
Round 1: 6 single crochets in a magic ring
2nd row: *1 sc, 2 sc in the next sc.* = 9 sts
Rows 3, 4, and 5 = fasten off 9 sts; thread the yarn through the stitches and pull it tight; sew the ears onto the head

Tips
Take an empty toilet paper roll, cut off a small piece, and place the bike bell inside it. This makes it easy to work and helps you figure out exactly where everything should go. Once you're done, you can secure the cover with strong double-sided tape.
