(You'll need 1 ball of yarn per pot holder, and you'll have a little left over—but not enough for another one. So, 2 balls for 2 pot holders. But if you want to make 4 pot holders, for example, 3 balls will be enough.)

Every crocheter’s work is different. Make sure to crochet the pot holders a bit tightly. This pot holder, crocheted with a 4 mm Crochet Hook, measures 20 cm wide and 20 cm tall. If, after a few rows, you notice that your pot holder is much wider or narrower, adjust your Crochet Hook size—for example, by going up or down half a size—to achieve the same result.

Crochet back and forth. Turn your work after each round.

Round 1: Chain 30 stitches. Crochet into the 3rdthe l 2 sts from the Crochet Hook.
*Now skip 2 ch on the chain. In the next ch, crochet 1 sc, 2 dc*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the row, but finish with 1 sc in the last ch.
Round 2: Crochet 2. Now crochet 2 double crochets in the first single crochet. *Skip 2 double crochets, crochet 1 single crochet, 2 double crochets in the single crochet*. Repeat from *to*, until the end of the row, but finish with just 1 single crochet in the last stitch.
Rounds 3 through 20: Repeat Row 2. If you want to add a hanging loop to your pot holder, do not fasten off after Row 20. Crochet 10 chains. Fasten off with 1 sl st on the side of the last st. Fasten off. Neatly weave in the beginning and ending threads.
