Crocheting a border around a dish towel isn't difficult, and once you've mastered the technique, you can crochet many more borders. Be sure to use good-quality cotton yarn for this border so you can wash the dish towel without any problems. Yarn and Colors Must-have is a great yarn for a project like this.

- Yarn and Colors Must-have 013 Sunglow and 039 Salmon. The original pattern was made with Phildar Phil Coton in the colors Soleil and Corail. Unfortunately, these colors are no longer available.

Instructions for Crocheting a Tea Towel Border
Step 1: Use the Wool Needle to sew a border along the edge of the tea towel. Use color Corail 33.

Step 2: Using the color Corail, crochet 4 single crochets into each square. Do not insert the hook into a stitch; instead, attach the crochet to the edge.

Step 3: Using color Soleil (45), crochet into the single crochets. The pattern repeats over 8 stitches, or 2 squares. Crochet a single crochet, half double crochet, treble crochet, treble crochet, treble crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, and single crochet. Repeat this around the entire dish towel.
