Plastic. It’s one of the biggest sources of ocean pollution. Did you know that a plastic bag is used for an average of 15 minutes, but it takes 20 years for it to break down in nature? As a result, plastic accumulates in the ocean, and every year 100,000,000 animals die because they get entangled or their stomachs are filled with plastic. The World Wildlife Fund is taking action against the plastic soup, and we’d like to do our part.
In collaboration with Lisanne Multem of Happy Handmade Living, we are therefore launching the Happy Handmade Bag. With this, we’re tackling the plastic waste crisis in several ways. First of all, because this crocheted market bag replaces the plastic shopping bag. Second, because Yarnplaza donates €2.50 to the World Wildlife Fund for every kit or pattern sold (campaign runs through December 31, 2021).
