Pink: a color that owes its name to the French word for “rose” (Rose), is a staple of every princess dress, and is used by many young girls in their glitter drawings. It’s a shade of red and white that we see on rusks, Valentine’s Day cards, and in the jacket Hillary Clinton wore on the cover of *People* Magazine in 2014. It’s the go-to color to wear on the Monday of the Tilburg fair and during Pride in Amsterdam. And we, as a pink-themed company, have a variety of pink items in our collection! :) Want to get creative with this beloved color? Then keep reading!
Fuchsia, magenta, salmon pink, nude, raspberry pink, neon pink, Barbie pink, cotton candy pink, or just bright pink. This shade, derived from Red, was a color that men liked to wear in the 18th century, because the color red was associated with passion and combativeness. So, a soldier in a pink uniform wasn’t such a strange sight back then!
These days, we don't have to head out to the battlefield to wear this lovely color or incorporate it into our home decor. Here's how you can get started with...
Clothing
… the Yarn and Colors Cloud Cardigan. A wearable little cloud that ensures you always have a nice, warm layer with you. The fluffy texture of this cardigan is further emphasized by its short, boxy fit and trendy balloon sleeves. Another cardigan we’d love to recommend is the Yarn and Colors Afternoon Tea Cardigan. A true winter must-have made of warm Merino Wool.
We may have just left winter behind, but wow, what a cute winter set this is! Stand out from the crowd with the Yarn and Colors Black & White scarf, hat, and mittens. You’re sure to catch everyone’s eye in the white snowy landscape.

Accessories
Are you a tone-on-tone kind of person who loves to go for an all-pink outfit, or do you prefer small pops of color? Either way, (Pink) accessories are the perfect finishing touch. The Joly Bag is a great—and above all, practical—accessory! Whether you’re spending a day at the beach, strolling through the market, or settling down on a big patch of grass for a picnic, with this bag you’ll step out the front door in style!

If you find yourself secretly carrying quite a lot of stuff around one day, the RibbonXL Avila Beachbag is also a great bag for adding a touch of pink to your outfit. The textile yarn makes this bag extra strong, so that bunch of bananas, that can of beans, and a package of gingerbread will all come home with you during a spontaneous trip to the grocery store!
Interior
Pink is known as a lovely, soft color. It’s the perfect color to add just a touch more warmth to your home. Could your home use a little more pink? The Dream Blanket 5.0 CAL/KAL recently kicked off—a special anniversary edition where you’ll create the most beautiful patterns using filet crochet or ajour knitting. The blanket is available in both subtle Rosé and trendy Pink Sand.
If you’d like to work with a Yarn and Colors yarn other than the Joy used in the Dream Blanket 5.0, go for the Yarn and Colors block blanket. It’s a crocheted blanket made with Yarn and Colors Epic and a simple stitch. The result: a real eye-catcher with a stunning pink color scheme that’s sure to impress!

If you’d rather tackle a slightly smaller project, the Yarn and Colors Bobbles Comfy Cushion Crochet Kit comes highly recommended. The cushion is crocheted using Yarn and Colors Super Must-have yarn; its bobble stitch gives it a trendy and playful texture, and it pairs perfectly with any interior style.
It’s something completely different, but our crocheted spring bouquet is also a great way to add some charm to your home. A colorful eye-catcher you can enjoy for years to come!
Craft Supplies
If you already have lots of pink items hanging on your coat rack and/or incorporated into your home decor, you might want to consider the following: where do you store your balls of yarn and (crochet/knitting) needles? Could that old grey shopping bag use an upgrade? If that last question got you thinking, we’ve got some pink alternatives for you! For example, we have a beautiful Yarnplaza pencil case (XL) that lets you store your yarn quickly and easily. If you have some extra space in the pencil case, don’t forget to add the pink Yarnplaza Row Counter and Scissors!

Have you ever tried your hand at a pink craft project? We're really curious! :) Share your project using #Yarnplaza!
